Wanda
"I- I'm sorry." Wanda said in a whisper. A small tear trickled down her face as she stepped away from Steve. Strucker's smile grew impossibly wide as he looked at her. "I'm sorry." Wanda repeated looking up at Steve. His face turned into a frown. Pietro took Wanda's hand trying to coax her away from the Avengers. Wanda didn't know why this exchange was so conflicting. She was angry at the emotions she felt. Steve's expression changed from its frown into one of sadness and betrayal. Wanda couldn't bear to look at him any longer. Her tears dripped down her cheek and she pushed them away. "You made the right choice." Strucker looked towards her. Wanda refused to look at him but she kept walking. Pietro turned his attention back to her. "You don't have to trust them." he frowned, noticing her face. "I know. And I don't trust them. That's why I'm here." Wanda answered with a neutral tone. She turned away the slightest bit clearly agitated at the interaction. "What's wrong?" Pietro turned his head to one side. "Nothing." Wanda answered with the same neutral tone. "Are you ok?" Pietro asked her. Wanda let out a deep sigh. "I don't know." she replied. Pietro seemed to frown but he didn't ask her anything else. Strucker however seemed annoyed at the interaction. "You don't seriously feel bad. Listen, the Avengers will serve their purpose sooner than later." Strucker said, staring at her. Wanda lifted her head up to meet his gaze. "I- I'm sorry." she whispered, turning her head away.
Strucker waved off her comment. "Don't apologize, just prove yourself." he hissed. Wanda nodded ever so slightly. "Why did you come all this way?" Wanda perked up with curiosity in her tone. Strucker turned to look at her "I came to meet the leader of this base along with discussing some crucial details." he replied. Wanda was confused why he didn't say more about the situation but she didn't ask any more. Pietro slowly walked up to her and slid his hand into hers. Wanda squeezed it gently but didn't look at him. "Are you sure you're ok?" he asked in a whisper. "I never said I was ok. But I-" Wanda would've told him more if she hadn't realized Strucker was still there. She looked up at the sudden noise in front of her. Either Strucker really didn't like their conversation or he just happened to step on a large piece of metal debris. Which she couldn't actually tell. The guards at the front seemed surprised when Strucker walked up. Wanda rolled her eyes at their shock. She didn't look up either. As soon as they entered the base she started to look around. It was always busy but everything seemed quiet as she entered. It was an uncomfortable silence. It was as if everyone knew she had almost betrayed them. Which it's not like she was- she was just conflicted. The conflicting feelings and thoughts continued to bubble up into her mind. She tried her best to suppress them but they kept coming back. She was angry at the feelings. Why couldn't she just agree with Hydra and hate the Avengers. She did hate the Avengers; she kept telling herself that. Wanda hated all of them, especially Tony Stark. Nothing would change the way she felt about him. Even if he pretended to act nice. No act would stop her hatred. Wanda found herself standing against the wall. Her back was to it and she just looked down.
Out of the corner of her eye she noticed Pietro. Pietro was watching her with some look in his eye. She noticed it was one of concern. Most likely for her. She subtly looked up to stare at him for a minute before he turned away. "Why are you looking at me?" she asked, hiding the knowing in her voice. "I'm worried about you." Pietro shifted uncomfortably. Probably because he didn't want to cause too much of a scene. "I-" Wanda stopped herself. She was going to just say she was fine but it was no use. She knew she wasn't everyone probably did. Everyone else thought of her as a freak. Even her own brother probably thought of her as a freak. Wanda's thoughts made her face turn into a frown. She turned away from Pietro and back towards the empty hallway. "Wanda?" Pietro questioned. It was then that Wanda noticed he had said something. She didn't hear what nor did she actually care. Thinking of something to say was so much effort. It was so hard to think of a lie more like. She didn't like lying to her brother but it was the only way to push past uncomfortable questions. Wanda squeezed her eyes shut to avoid making eye contact with him. Pietro put his hand on her chin and gently guided her head over to look at him. "Please, tell me what's going on." he sighed. Wanda opened her eyes the slightest bit revealing some wetness around her eyes. Pietro grabbed her hand and the two of them walked to the room they had been staying at. When they walked in Wanda had to hold back her emotions so she wouldn't break. Pietro sat down on the bed and Wanda sat cross legged on the ground. She continued to avoid his eye contact.
