the air was thick when noa awoke from her slumber, the mall a pitch black. her whole body ached and burned as she opened her eyes, a wince escaping her lips.
her fingers gently traced over the white bandage, her throat burned and her lips were cracked, her eyes glanced over to a sleeping terry sitting in a chair he'd pulled up beside her bed.
his head rested on the side of the bed his hair messy, yet he looked relaxed. his face was soft and it lacked tension. weakly noas hand ran through his hair, her eyes watched him shift slightly in his seat before he sat up looking to the girl.
his eyes widened as he perked up, noa sent him a weak smile watching as he grasped a bottle of water. unscrewing the lid her gently held the water to noas lips.
taking a few sips from the drink terry slowly pulled it away from her lips smiling down to the girl who looked exhausted. "come lay down with me" noa whispered softly to the boy who set the water down climbing into the bed beside his girl.
his arms gently wrapped around her waist, and her head rested against his chest. "how long was i out for?" noa questioned softly, her throat raw and burning as she spoke. "nearly fifteen hours" terry spoke softly as noa nodded her head.
"you scared me" terry admitted softly to the girl who gently grasped his hand in her own. her thumb tracing circles on his hand. "i thought i was gonna lose you noa" he murmured softly as noa felt her chest tighten in guilt.
"i don't know what id do- what any of us would do if you died" terry spoke softly against her hair. "even kenneth and cj were worried" the boy added as noa let out a small sigh.
"your not gonna lose me terry, i promise" noa spoke softly glancing up to the boy who shook his head slightly. "you can't say that" terry spoke softly his eyes shutting. "you can't make a promise like that" terry added softly as noa let out a sigh.
"you don't know what's gonna happen" terry finished as noa nodded her head softly. "i don't care, im not dying anytime soon terry, i promise" noa spoke softly to the boy who nodded softly.
"i know" terry spoke softly as his eyes felt heavy. "your not losing me either, i promise" terry spoke softly as noa smiled softly, her arms weakly wrapping around the boy. her wound ached as she moved but she didn't care. she needed to have this boy in her arms.
noas eyes fluttered open as the store lights turned on, the music flowing through the store as noa groaned in annoyance. feeling terry tighten his arms around her waist she smiled slightly.
"noa!" anna beamed as she walked through the door awakening terry in the process who groaned in annoyance. anna sat in the chair beside noa who sent her a weak smile.
"alright i have to check and make sure it's not getting infected" anna spoke softly to noa who nodded her head. terry grumbled under his breathe as he stood up pulling on his shoes along with his belt.
"bring me a coffee please" noa smiled to terry who nodded his head at the girl with a tired smile on his face before leaving the two wemon.
"you two are adorable" anna smiled as she pulled up noas shirt to reveal the bandage on her stomach. noa blushed at the comment, "how's the baby?" noa asked softly as anna unwrapped the bandage from her stomach.
her expression faltered at the mention of the newborn. "she didn't make it noa" anna mumbled softly pulling off the gauze looking at the stitches. "what" noa asked in disbelief as anna nodded.
"luda was infected, with lisa's blood going into the baby so did the infection" anna spoke rewrapping the bandage. "shit" noa mumbled as anna sent her a tight lipped smile. "you should be fine, just take it easy so you don't rip in stitches" anna advised as noa nodded.
noa slowly sat up before being pushed back down by anna who shook her head slightly. "nope your on bed rest" anna spoke with a sarcastic smile on her face as the greyson girl groaned. "come on i've been in here forever!" noa complained as anna sent her a questioning look.
"barley two days" anna clarified as terry walked back in with noas coffee in his hand. "yeah to damn long" noa complained taking the coffee from terry sending him a smile.
anna rolled her eyes at the girls antics, "your not gonna be missing out on anything" anna spoke as noa rolled her eyes. noa looked over to terry with a 'really' expression written on her face. "yeah anna's right" terry agreed as noa looked back over to anna taking a sip from the coffee.
"except redoing the busses" monica spoke as she walked inside the room looking to noa with a smirk on her face. "oh so that's nothing?" noa questioned looking to anna them to terry.
"yes it's nothing! nothing to do with you" anna snapped at the greyson girl who angrily glared at her. "let her help! i'll watch her" monica spoke with a grin looking to noa. "yeah monica will babysit me" noa spoke with a small smile looking to monica.
"noa just one day" terry spoke softly to the girl who sent him a cheeky grin. "or monica could babysit me, i won't get hurt blah blah blah" noa spoke using her hand to portray a mouth talking. "and you all get to work on your trucks! win win!" noa spoke looking from terry to anna who pintch the bridge of her nose.
"fine" anna spoke with a sigh as noa grinned at her. "great" noa spoke looking to monica who held a grin on her face. "be carful, don't do anything stupid" terry told noa who nodded, sending him a sly wink.
