Chapter 8

After the trials they have gone through as a couple, Avery and Van continue to fight for their love. However, the challenges they face in their profession as doctors are not to be taken lightly.

Whenever their friends and colleagues inquire about their relationship, judgmental looks from other doctors cannot be avoided. One attention grabber is Dr. Liam, a handsome and successful doctor who is often seen with Van at medical conferences and social events.

Avery feels jealous whenever she sees Van and Dr. Liam together. Every time Van mentions Dr. Liam's name, even in casual conversation, Avery can't help but feel fear and doubt.

One evening while having dinner, Avery couldn't contain her feelings anymore. "Van, I can't help but feel jealous whenever you're with Dr. Liam. I feel like I'm losing you."

Van was surprised by Avery's confession, but after noticing the sadness in her eyes, he put down his fork and held Avery's hands. "Avery, I love you so much, and you are the only one in my heart. I didn't mean to make you feel jealous of Dr. Liam. Let's remind each other of our promises as a couple."

The night continued with Avery and Van discussing their fears and worries. Avery promised to be strong and trust Van, but she couldn't hide the concern in her heart.

There were other doctors who couldn't help but criticize and vie for Van's attention. Dr. Sophia, another prestigious doctor in the hospital, seemed relentless in showing her admiration for Van. Avery noticed their close interactions whenever their eyes met.

On one occasion, while Van and Dr. Sophia were talking about new projects in the hospital, Avery watched from afar, filled with worry and fear. Anger rose in her chest, and she approached Avery and pulled Van away from Dr. Sophia.

"Van, can't you see what Dr. Sophia is doing to us? It feels like she wants to push me out of your life!" Avery shouted, tears streaming down her face.

Van was taken aback by Avery's sudden outburst of jealousy. "Avery, I never intended for you to get hurt. I don't know Dr. Sophia, she might just be misunderstood. Please don't leave me. I love you."

Hearing Van's plea, Avery couldn't help but let her tears fall. She kissed Van, a kiss filled with love and a promise to overcome whatever challenges they may face.

Days passed, and their lives as doctors continued. But Avery couldn't understand why she was always overshadowed by Dr. Sophia. Little did she know that from the beginning, Van had been silently expressing his concerns to her about the haters and attention-seekers in the hospital.

"My love, I can't bear the criticisms anymore. I've been hurt several times, and I'm scared it will continue. I don't know what to do," Van said with regret in his voice.

Avery's eyes filled with sadness. "Van, I have no intention of leaving you. We are what keeps each other strong. Who knows, in the coming days, we might overcome these trials."

Avery and Van promised to trust and love each other despite the challenges they would face. In every darkness, their love would be their light. And as they walk through the hospital corridors, they will hold on to each other firmly. Because their love will prevail despite the attention seekers and doubts.
