As Jing Yuan left the prison, his mind kept thinking about him but not just Blade but the moment that they had before Yanqing called. As much as Jing Yuan tried to push those thoughts away, they came right back. He wasn't able to focus on his work because of said thoughts.
“General?!” Yanqing shouted, voice filled with worry.
“Yanqing, I’m right here. There is no need to shout.” Jing Yuan Remarked.
“Where were you?” Yanqing questioned.
“Somewhere.” Jing Yuan stated.
Yanqing pouted a little, but what mattered to him the most was the whereabouts of Jing Yuan.
“Did you need something, Yanqing?” Jing Yuan inquired.
“No. I just wanted to know where you were. But, now I have a question.”
Jing Yuan subconsciously smiled at the fact that Yanqing was worried for him.
“Ask away. Yanqing.” Jing Yuan stated.
“Do you have a history with Blade since I always see you walking from the shakling prison?”
Jing Yuan knew this question was going to come about for a while now.
“Well, we trained under the same master when we were both kids but at some point he disappeared and during that time a lot happened and it turns out he died and he became who we now know as Blade.”
“So he wasn’t always like this?”
“Nope. He was quiet, but he wouldn't hurt anyone unless you provoked him. But he was always skilled with a sword. Blade wasn’t Blade when I was younger. He was Yingxing. Since he was a short-life species, his physical appearance changed a lot more quickly than mine.”
“So you’re saying that when both were adults, you had the body of a teenager while he had the body of an adult?”
“In a sense.”
“I never thought that the general knew Blade before he became a stellaron hunter.”
“Mhmm. Now it’s getting late, you need to go to sleep, Yanqing.”
“But General. I’m not tired.”
“Yanqing. You are still young so you need plenty of sleep.”
“Fine. Goodnight, General.”
“Goodnight Yanqing.”
Once Yanqing walked into his room and closed the door, Jing Yuan found this as the perfect opportunity to go back to the cell that was holding Blade and maybe try to start a conversation with him. When he got down there, he expected Blade to be asleep, but to his surprise, he wasn’t. He walked up to the cell and watched Blade as he was just carving something into the wall. Blade didn’t notice Jing Yuan until he was finished with his carving.
“Yuan, what are you doing here?”
“Since Yanqing went to sleep, I decided why not come back here. I have nothing better to do anyway.”
“Yes you do. Sleep.”
“I can do that later.”
“Jing Yuan, as busy as you are, you need the most sleep out of anyone.”
“I’ll be fine with time. So, what were you carving into the wall?”
“You when you were younger, but some part of me can’t help but feel that something is missing.”
“Let me see.”
“You won’t be able to see from there.”
“Okay then.”
