When man was first created by Katara, goddess of creation, and Zoey, Goddess of Life, they had no food. Animals hadn't been created yet, and plants weren't thought of as food. Mankind, not sure of what to eat, had decided to eat each other. Some had children, let them grow up for a few years, fattened them, and ate them. When someone died naturally, if they had enough meat on them, they were eaten. This was normal, as there was nothing else to eat. Not all ate their children, but about 60% of the population did.
