In the dark alley,
There you'll find me
Alone, broken, shattered,
Searching near and far for thee
Lost like a mild pup,
Confused like a newly hatched bird,
Troubled as I am
Bewitched with such a curse
Tiny thorns scattered far and near
Covering the path to where I must go
Red dots, dripping on the floor
Feeling the agonizing pain once more
Little by little, these scars I have must heal
To find, yet again
The love I have lost, now searching for so long
In the dark alley,
There you'll find me
Bewildered in the loss of light,
Dreaming of a heavenly site
In the mission of seeking a home
To be once more safe, far from trouble
Away from the world's rubble
To be sleeping soundly again on a ductile foam
My home I have, yet again
I long to stay, before the rain
It may come for a second time
I wish not to waste another dime
Because in the dark alley
There is no refuge that you may seek
Not a bird, nor a tree, not even a pretty little creek
