I sit up groaning instantly as my head begins to throb.
The woodsy smell and pine needles serving to instantly remind me of my surroundings.
The wolf from last night paces around me, as if trying to protect me while I sleep.
"Excuse me." I whisper hoarsely, as I look at him.
The wolf turns his face to me abruptly, his blue eyes softening as they meet my own amber eyes.
"You're a nice wolf, you wouldn't hurt me, right?" I ask quietly, causing the wolf to nod.
I hold my hand out for him, as if offering him thanks for his actions.
He walks over to me cautiously, looking up at me when he is about two feet away.
"I won't hurt you." I whisper, wincing as I lean myself towards him. The wolf whimpers walking towards me quickly.
He nuzzles his head into my neck, sniffing me. I giggle as his whiskers graze against the exposed skin of my neck.
He then pulls away and barks at me. "What?" I ask, peering at him confused. He barks again, laying on the ground before standing up quickly.
"What?" I ask, grabbing my head. He jumps up, motions to me and then pretends to run.
"You want me to go somewhere?" I ask, causing him to nod.
"I'm pretty sure I'm losing my mind. But okay, where to pup?" I ask, attempting to stand.
The minute I but pressure on my ankle it caves underneath me as I crumple to the forest floor.
"I don't think I can really go anywhere with you pup." I whisper, clutching my ankle where the bite mark from last night remains.
The wolf winces, walking over and tossing me onto his back. It is now that I truly realize how large this wolf is. Even leaning forwards with my arms around his neck my feet can't touch the ground.
The wolf sets off running, causing my grasp on him to tighten anymore. This wolf seemed intelligent, way too intelligent to be a regular wolf.
The wolf leaves the bulk of the forest, taking a small path up towards a very large house.
Even though this house was huge, it had a rustic cottage feel to it. The outside was painted a pale tan color, and had many large bay windows and balconies.
The wolf slowed his pace, walking up the steps to this large house. "What are we doing here pup?" I ask.
He in return starts barking at the door until I hear someone turn the handle.
"Dax, you were supposed to be home last night." The man at the door sighs. "The whole pack was going nuts." He scolds.
Hey, at least I'm not the only one talking to a wolf. The wolf, well, Dax, barks one more time, looking up at the man.
"Okay, okay." He sighs, taking me off of Dax's back and into his own arms. I squirm, looking up at the strange man.
I hear a low grown humming through Dax's chest. The man's grip loosens on me as his eyes widen.
"I'm sorry Alpha, Luna will be taken to the infirmary right away." The man rambles. Dax let's out another bark, causing the man to turn around.
"Sorry Dax." He whispers, taking me into the house. "Where am I?" I ask quietly as I look up at the large man.
His hair was in blonde ringlets piled close to his head. His brown eyes peer down at me carefully.
"This is a friendly place." He replies simply. "Dax will explain it all to you." He adds.
"Uhm." I say quietly, shooting him an odd look. "Dax is a wolf." I sigh, putting my head in my hands.
"No, not exactly." The man explains. "He, well, he will explain it to you, trust me Luna." He whispers, taking me over to a white door.
"Hemingway." He sighs, opening the door. The room is painted white and has needles and syringes lining the walls.
The entire thing made me nervous. a house in the middle of the woods. What do they want, my bone marrow? Will I be a human centipiede?
"This is Luna." He says as a blonde, I'm assuming Hemingway, appears in front of us.
"Dax brought her here?" She asks, causing the man holding me to nod. "We can't screw up then, she doesn't know anything does she?" The lady asks, her green eyes peering down on me.
"She has two bites, one on her shoulder, another on her ankle." He says, setting me on the bed.
"What's your name?" He asks finally, looking at me again. "Adisyn." I reply quietly. "Well, my name is Austyn, this is Hemingway." He smiles.
"How rude of me not to introduce myself sooner. I'm so sorry, don't tell Daxton." He sighs.
"I told you-" I get cut off by the door being thrown open.
A guy with chocolate brown hair enters the room. He seems very out of breath as he flicks his hair out of his blue eyes.
They look familiar to me, but it can't be. Are those Dax's eyes? No, Dax is a wolf, this is a man. They can't be the same person, right?
"Alpha." Austyn says, stepping to the side. "How is she?"The man asks, stepping closer to my bedside.
"I haven't gotten a chance to look her over yet Alpha." Hemingway replies quietly.
The man looks down at me, moving my hair from my eyes. "Hello Luna." He whispers, kneeling down beside me.
"A-actually, my name is Adisyn." I whisper, though I can't help but smile at him.
"Well, I'm Daxton, Daxton Andrews." He says, offering me his hand.
I take it, but pull away instantly upon contact. The minute our hands touched a jolt of electricity passed through me.
"I'm sorry, I forgot about that." He sighs, looking at me carefully. "It's different when I'm my wolf." He whispers.
"Excuse me?" I ask, my eyes widening. "Honey, do you like the supernatural?" He asks, causing me to nod.
"Well good, then you'll love me."
