I stared at her with a blank look on my face, not processing what she said. My mouth was dry and felt like the desert while my whole body grew tense.

My mind went blank, and I couldn't figure out what she said or what all was going on.

"Luna?" Laurene asked. Worry filled her voice and she placed her hand on my shoulder, but I didn't blink nor move. "Luna? Please. What is it? What's wrong?"

Still, I didn't say a word and was numb.

"My apologies, Luna, but I had to call the Alpha. She will be here shortly."

I didn't respond and stared blankly at the wall, numb.

There was a knock on the door of the room before it opened, and I could smell my mate while she came towards me.

"What happened?" she asked, her voice hard and filled with anger. "What did you do to her?"

"I-I didn't do anything, Alpha," the doctor said nervously, bowing her head. "I told her... something that I believe she should tell you herself. She's stunned at the moment of the news that I told her."

"What did you tell her?" my mate asked. She walked over to me and sat on the bed.

"I can't say. I'm sorry," she said and shook her head. "Again, I believe that she has to be the one to tell you."

My mate growled a warning, and she flinched, but I didn't care and didn't flinch either. "What did you tell her?" she asked, her voice cold and dark, but there was no command in her voice.

Pregnant, you're pregnant, the voices in my head said, and I stared blankly at the wall.

"P-P-Please," she stuttered and bowed her head. "Help her get out of this state, and let her tell you. I-I made her a promise that I will not say a word. I-It's something that she needs to tell you. It's not my place."

Ashlyn growled and narrowed her eyes but didn't say a word while she turned her attention back to me. She hesitated before she sat down beside me and took me into her arms.

I flinched but didn't move much after that, not caring that she was beside me.

"Georgie?" she asked softly and started to shake me gently. "Wake up, you're safe. You're with me."

I didn't respond nor flinch away from her.

All I did was sit there, staring into nothingness while I shook and shuddered.

My mate sighed frustrated before she looked at the doctor. "How am I supposed to wake her up?" she asked, letting out the frustration that she was holding onto. She didn't try to lay a hand on me like my father would have if he caught me in this position, and I knew that I would be grateful to her if I was able to comprehend what was going on.

"I don't know," the doctor said and bowed her head. "I wish I did, but I do not."

Ashlyn growled in annoyance but didn't say a word. She turned her attention back to me and hesitated before she pulled me into a hug and rubbed my back. "Come on, Georgie," she said, her voice muffled by the sound of the blood running from my brain. "You are fine. You and your siblings are safe. Wake up. They need you. I need you."

I didn't respond and stared straight ahead, not seeing anything.

Pregnant, you're pregnant...

How? How could this happen to me and why?

"Get her siblings," she said. "Maybe that would kick her out of this. After this, do you think she will tell me?"

Dr. Laurene nodded. "I will get them," she said. "Maybe hug her or something?"
