Amy was a freshman at the local university. She was curious and adventurous, and she had heard stories about an abandoned asylum on the outskirts of town. She had been warned to stay away, but she was determined to explore it.
So one day, after classes were done, she got on her bike and rode out to the asylum. It was eerily quiet when she arrived, and the building seemed to be empty. She ventured inside and was surprised to find that it was still in surprisingly good condition.
But as she explored further, she started to feel a strange presence. It was like the tortured souls of the asylum’s past had come back to haunt her. She could hear faint whispers and screams coming from the shadows, and the hair on the back of her neck stood on end.
Suddenly, she heard a loud crash behind her. She spun around and saw a figure standing in the doorway. It was an old man, his face twisted with pain and sorrow. He told her he had been living in the asylum ever since it had been abandoned, unable to leave due to the pain of his past.
Amy was both horrified and heartbroken. She offered to help him escape, but he refused. He said he was content to stay in the asylum, as it reminded him of his tormented past.
Amy left the asylum with a heavy heart, realizing that the place was still very much occupied by the tortured souls of its past...
