From the moment she witnessed him kill the child that was taunting him, she knew where the Gods planned for her to be. Who's side she would faithfully serve.
There was something about the way his temper fell so short that sent a thrill down her spine. How he was quick to defend his mother, his brothers, himself. She knew she wanted to be part of that too.
She the village orphan of Kattegat. Thyra was the name given to her and she often wondered between the village families. Her existence was a mystery, but no one questioned her place in the village. She done whatever chores were asked of her.
Thyra enjoyed being close to Helga and Floki. They were the most caring out of all the families that did care for her- and kept her close when they could. She learned from them both and especially enjoyed the lessons Floki would teach her about the Gods. Especially when Ivar was there to learn too.
As they aged, her determination to prove herself did as much as his. So she would follow him around the village, wherever he may go- and was nicknamed "Thyra the Shadow" before she recieved her real name years later.
