Tren's POV (before the almost-incident)
We were warned about our ears popping as we were lowered. Minutes later, we were enabled to collect our luggages. Surveying the movable rack for my luggage, I saw my mum running to grab hers.

The drive home was quiet. Both of us were exhausted. I planned on taking a walk to Maya's house when we got home. I wasn't able to wait any longer.
"Baby, we're home." I was shaken out of my rest. Gathering my things, I got out of the car.
I carelessly through everything in my room, I grabbed my phone and ran downstairs.
"I'll be at Maya's!" I yelling hoping my mum heard.
The air was cool, breezy. The sun was at its highest and the birds were chirping. I brought out my earbuds and walked to the beat if the music. As I got closer to Maya's development, I saw dots, which were later made out as people. I got closer, pausing my music. They were cursing, yelling. It seemed that their target was in the middle of the circle. Gradually their voice decreased in volume. I squinted my eyes when one of the guys moved and made access for me to see who was in the center. Having no time to react, my walk became a despret sprint. Maya had a gun pointing at her head. At any moment she could shoot. Her back was towards me, she didn't know there was anyone stopping her. My legs started failing me, but it was now or never. Knowing I wasn't going to make it, I shouted, "MAYA DON'T!"
Maya's POV (present time)
I wasn't able to control my emotions. I was still in shock by the fact he was back.
"Tren, please!" I begged, still sobbing loudly. But he didn't listen. My eyes filled with water as I watched him fierce-fully pace back and forth.
"DO YOU KNOW HOW HORRIFIED I WAS! I was in panick, I thought I WASN'T GOING TO MAKE IT!..." his tone went down and the crease on his forehead relaxed. "I was coming over to say I'm home."
He began walking away, pushing back his brown curls. He left me alone.
I wanted to go chase him, but I know he didn't want to talk to me. I turned the other way and began sprinting home, wanting to get out of the public eye. My body didn't fail, surprisingly picking up my speed as I got closer. I got to the house and slammed the door. I barely made it in as I slid to the floor, sobbing loudly out of anger. Anger towards myself. What have I done...
Tren's POV
That was the first time I left Maya on her own. I was so angry. What if I was a second late like I was when she was beat up. I would've never forgiven myself if she died. I transferred my walk into a jog, but my legs didn't comply.
I got to the house and reluctantly stormed inside, running to my room. When I walked in, I didn't know what to do. My hands covered my face while I layed back on my bed. I began to cry. Maya made me cry. I was having a heart attack, not being able to control what came out while I let my emotions let go. I threw my pillow to the wall, knocking down anything that got in its way.
I heard a knock on the door. "Tren...?" Mum's voice could be heard from the other side of the solid barrier. Instantly I began to wipe the tears away, hiding the fact that I was crying.
"Yeh?"
"Everything alright in there?"
"Uhh, yeah, mum!" The doorknob turned and I cursed.
She's gasped. "Tren? What happened?"
"Nothing mum." By the look on her face, she wasn't convinced. I sniffled as she gave a sympathetic look.
"Tren, what happened?" Now she was fully in my room.
"It's just...she-" it made me so mad and sad to say. In anger, I threw my phone that was earlier in my grasp. A gasp let out from mum.
"TREN! Stop!" She looked frightened at my action. Her body moved closer, hands came out to hold me in place. "What the hell happened to you?"
"Maya tried to kill herself! There! Happy?!" I rhetorically asked.
"She wha-"
"Yeah, and if I was a second slower, she would've died!" I loudly explained. Sitting back on my bed, I rocked back and forth, face buried.
"What's going on with Maya? Tren, you're her boyfriend, she's probably going through something that you'll never understand. Lashing out at her won't solve anything..." Her hand settled on my shoulder, calming me down. "You need to go talk to her, ignoring her will only make her life and your life worse." I hate when my mum is right.
The fact the Maya was seconds away from shooting herself shot anger through my body. She made me feel something I've never really felt before; fear. Fear of loosing the one thing I love most. Never in my life have I experienced a girl in this pain, hating her life. The way I see it is: you only have one life, make the best of it. But to her, she wants her one life to be ended.

When I reached her driveway I got nervous. I wasn't sure how she was feeling at this time. Sad? Mad? Or just angry, with me. My knuckles were about to knock on the door when I quickly pulled them away cowardly. Taking a breathe, I tried again. Footsteps were heard and the door was opened. Maya was on the other side, but didn't say anything.
"Can we talk?"
Her arms crossed, but walked outside. "I meant inside, I don't want people staring." In annoyance, she turned around and walked back in.
"What Tren." She demanded.
"I just wanna know what you're thinking...this very moment, Maya."
Her eyes opened.
"Why did you stop me?"
"Why wouldn't I-"
"Can't you see Tren!?" She began walking into the kitchen. "I don't want to live anymore! Hatred is everywhere and it's all towards me!" Her foot stomped to the ground. "You DON'T GET IT and you never will!"
"What did the guys say?" She knew exactly who I was talking about, without an explanation.
"It's not worth repeating." She stated. "None of my life is worth repeating."
"So what are you going to do?"
"I don't know, you won't let me do what I want!" She raised her voice at me, like it's my fault.
"I'm sorry I stopped you from DYING!" I sarcastically responded.
"You should be! It's what I wanted! It's my decision, it's my life."
I took a seat. Absorbing the words coming from her struck my emotions. She paced back and forth in frustration, huffing her breathe and giving me evil glares.
I took a moment to make sure I wanted to say what I was about to say.
I stood up, grabbing her wrist.
