My name is Elizabeth Jane Conroy and I'm 23 years old. I was a straight A student althrew school, never got one detention and am currently keeping up my clean police record. I'm happy too. I have a wonderful fiancé. His name is Justin Montgomery, son of the mayor and only judge in WoodlinFalls. We fell in love 5 years ago when I was nearly done my independent studies at Harvard University. He was that dashing young Harvard law student all the girls worshiped, but he picked me out of the million others. And now, were getting married in WoodlinFalls Conroy Baptist church, being a preacher's daughter and all. I had almost everything I ever dreamed of when my daddy bought me a farm house down by the old creek. We moved in right away, and when daddy hired some help, I realised something. That Justin and I would be a big mistake when I saw him. The farmhand. Sebastian Beauclaire. He was intriguing and I could'nt help it...
October had arrived so fast it was unbelievable. Justin and I had successfully managed a farm for 3 months now. Our wedding was almost ready. "Liz, did you send out the invites?" Justin asked me "Of course. But we still need the DJ, the cake and my dress isn't in yet." Justin approached me and kissed me with his perfect pink lips. "We've got time Liz. I love you." Those three words. I-love-you. There powerful words. The kind that'll make you do anything. I guess that's why I said yes to Justin a year ago. I mean, truly, I don't have feelings anymore, but my daddy's so happy he gets to give away his daughter in his church, that I can't cancel the wedding. You see, the mayor says that the government is going to rebuild the church in January but my dad's got to walk me down that church aisle before it's gone... His exact words were "Your gonna get married in your dad's church on your dad's favorite red carpet. I love you Elly" I can't do much about that now can I? "Liz? Liz!" I returned to reality when Justin called my name. "Phone." I grabbed the phone and took the quick call. It was my little sister Abigail. She said she was coming home for my wedding and that she'd be staying with me for a few weeks. I had until Friday for her arrival.
The week worked out great actually but didn't make me feel any better. On Tuesday I got a call from a man named Johnny Nilson who said he could DJ my wedding. Wednesday my wedding dress arrived which just caused me more guilt knowing ill have to wear it while I marry a man I don't love. Thursday the caterer called saying he had to cancel. Luckly my friend Betty down the street owns a bakery and agreed to caterer my wedding and make the cake. Finally Friday arrived. I woke at 6 am waiting for Abbi's arrival when I got a call from her asking for a ride from the airport. I grabbed my keys and headed north.
Abbi jumped in my arms when she saw me and couldnt help admiring my 2 carrot emerald cut gold ring. "That boy must treat a girl well! Look at that ring!" I pulled my hand away from her and picked up her bags "Let's go. You can ask him yourself if he treats a lady right." Abbi smiled with that same old big smile she always had and reminded me of the younger days. Playing behind the house, swimming in the lake across from the church, spending evenings with Justin and his family in University on summer vacation... Im sad to admit it but I liked me and Justin better as friends or just dating. Ever since the wedding arrangements begun, I haven't felt the same with him...
Justin waited at the door for us. I can't blame him for being patient but he really wanted to meet my little sister. As I was about to walk in the door, I noticed Sebastien finishing up his 6 O'clock chores. "Hey cowboy! You hungry?" Sebastien came walking up to the door "You offering me a meal?" I smile uncontrolably "Well why not? Even farmboys have gotta eat!" He smiled "Thanks but I think im gonna go for a swim. Maybe another time?" My smile quickly disapeared "Sure. Another time." I watched, as Sebastien walked away, wishing he would've stayed...
Diner consisted of fresh garden veggies picked by, none other than Sebastian himself, and a nice hot lasagna with garlic bread. I skipped out for desert to let Abbi get to know Justin a little better since they'll soon be related.
