|26|~Where Does Your Loyalty Lie?~

"What the hell happened back there, Biggs?" growls Hoax when I step into the small hotel room which is about two miles, or so from where the ball was hosted. It's our meet-up spot.

The entire gang is here besides my nieces and the few humans that I've grown close to. The four of them are already heading back to our home.

I'm no fool. Now that my inamorato found me I know that he will hunt me into the end of the world until he has me exactly where he wants me and I refuse for my nieces or the humans to become collateral damage.

The only reason that I'm free now is because Claire crashed the party and froze everyone in place, preventing a full-fledged war. Then once everything was decided to her liking she chose to unfreeze the guests one by one. First, it was the humans, my niece's included. Then it was us and her electrifying green eyes remained locked onto my brown eyes the entire time.

Her penetrating stare caught my attention.

It seems that she's drawn to me just like I'm drawn to her and after my discovery tonight, I'm guessing it has something to do with us being destined to be with the leech kings. That would explain everything including my strange pull towards Embry Wilde and that other human that I saw with the leech kings earlier tonight.

I know that sounds crazy but it's the only thing that makes sense.

"Yeah! What happened back there, Biggs?" Riley Riffle asks through clenched teeth as Chase Tails brings his hands close to her face for close inspection. His haunting honey-brown eyes flare with anger while he looks at me.

From where I'm standing, I can see a huge bullet hole in the center of his hand that ensures that a bullet went straight through.

"Nothing!" I say at the same time that my brother bonded Bailey tells, "The leech king somehow got to her."

I forgot that she was the one watching from behind the scenes. She has probably seen everything.

As a response, I place my penetrating gaze on her and I can almost hear her swallow hard.

"What the hell are you talking about!?" I play it cool even though I'm lowkey pissed. She needs to learn when to and when not to insert herself.

"You know exactly what she's talking about?" Hoax hisses, jumping right back into the conversation. "I saw you as well, staring at the leech king as if he was the hunter's god gift on earth itself and if that wasn't enough I heard you. Right before,"

"Right before I stopped him from ending you." I interrupt and remind him at the same time." If it wasn't for me there would no longer be a Hoax. It's that simple.

"Regardless. The facts are the facts. He's your inamorato isn't he!" He accuses and just like that, all eyes are on me.

"So what if he is!" I finally snap. I don't like his accusing tone and certainly don't like how everyone is staring at me as if I'm some sort of traitor.

Just as Hoax is about to snap back, Night Falls interrupts him by saying, "Even if that's true that doesn't mean anything. Biggs loyalty shall forever and always lie with the gang. You know that better than anyone Hoax."

Ignoring her, Hoax keeps his icy eyes locked onto me a while longer before he finally says. "You're right, Night but that doesn't change anything. Biggs I know he's."

"My Inamorato!" I confess before drawing in a deep breath, leaving everyone stunned. "It's the universe karma," I try to lighten the mood.

"Our more like a sick joke!" Chase Tails says looking at me sympathetically.
