Trees swaying slowly along the wind, the crickets chirping in the back as the sound of people sparked joy, their lives being full with love and cheerishing every moment, the laughter among the village soon turned to blood curdling screams

"mom, dad," a small child made way through a trampling crowd getting knocked down and trampled on. Her soft screams couldn't be heard by the mass amount of people in fear

Dead of night, where the moon was full came a demon, that night was the festival of celebration for the village chief, kids stayed up to play, adults cheering and getting intoxicated

"MOM, DAD," the child screamed she screamed and screamed till bodies fell on top of her. Blood was smeared everywhere, her pretty pink komono ruined, buildings around her crumbled to the ground

Her screams cut short after a log came crashing down on top of the dead body above her, making it terribly hard to breathe

That night, she was the only one to survive in her village. A child no more than four was the only survivor. No, wait, there was one more, but who, wait

Y/ns pov:

I sprung awake, shivering in my cold sweat. What was that? A dark room with a cot and a wardrobe was around me

"Hello," I spoke to the darkness, a dimly lit candle was on the window. "It's night." I gazed up at the stars, beautiful. "I see you are awake,"

I got startled by a voice leaning on the door frame, I stood still scared who was lurking in the dark

"it's really nice to see you again, I thought it was you when I saw you," the man sighed, standing up straight and walking into the candles' light

His ocean eyes, with his low ponytail resting on his back, his cold face showed no emotion as his sword was hidden by his unique haori

"Hello, but I don't recognize you." I stepped back, bumping into the wardrobe, and walked closer

"I know you don't" he kept getting closer as he reached out to grab my hand "but I remember everything we've been through, I thought I lost you to" his shaky breath was hitched as he tried to hold back tears, his poker face twitching

"Tomioka, Sabito, Makimo, let's go train down at the mountain." A group of four children went running, dodging trees and each other. They looked so friendly, but -

"Tomioka," I stared at the ground, him squeezing my hand harder

"What did you say?" he got closer, his figure clearly towering over me as I'm still stuck in the body of a six year old

"Tomioka is your name isn't it" he stared at me tears picking at the end of my eyes "yes it is" I rushed forward and hugged him, I saw a memory of me as a human, he is my friend, though he has grown quite a bit

"I missed you a lot, you know that, Suteki," he laughed. "I miss you t- "

"Y/n" an angry voice came from the door frame this time, Ruis voice I know that for sure, I let go of Tomiokas hands and walked closer to Rui "good girl" he opened his arms as I huged him, his coldness made me shiver but I feel protected

"I see you woke up, how was your rest" he glide his fingers across my cheek as he kissed the top of my head, "it was good I see we didn't die" that's right before the whole thing ended I passed out

"That's good." we stayed like that. The Hashira Tomioka stood there, not saying a word. He left after a couple of minutes

"it's soon to be morning and we have to be seeing the other demon who came with us right now, so will you come with me my lady" Rui kissed my hand, I blushed at this gesture and nodded my head "let's go then"
