"You are a disgrace. You are useless and will never matter. You're pathetic and will never find love. You are weak and will never be strong. You're wasted space and wasted time. You're a joke. You'll never be taken seriously. You are an embarrassment to humanity and should just give up because you will never achieve anything."

Xylo awoke in a cold sweat. He could feel the tears streaming down his face as he tried to forget the terrible things he thought Benny had said. It was late, but Xylo couldn't sleep anymore. He rose from the frigid bed. He needed some fresh air.

The forest was silent. There was not a sound as Xylo stepped into the soft grass. He could see the moon and the stars, he could see how the wind blew gently through the trees, and he could even see some birds in the distance, flying free in the great chasm that was the sky. The only thing he couldn't see.

Was Benjamin.

Xylo frowned at the thought of the white-haired man he once thought liked him. When he found the house empty a few days ago, he had a breakdown. He was right all along. Benjamin would never care. No one would.

He inhaled deeply, his ebony hair blowing in the wind. Benjamin was just afraid, nothing more. He would come to his senses eventually.

His emerald eyes burst with tears as he kicked the table. He was angry, furious even. They all thought he was strange. He would teach them. He yelled and kicked at the house he once hoped was his and Benjamin's.

He soon found himself in the cellar. His nose twitched in disgust at the smell. He picked up one of his bombs and marveled at it. He had built many of them. And now they were going to be used.

The village was far from here, but that wouldn't keep Xylo from his goal. He wondered if Benjamin had reached the town, or if he had gotten lost somewhere. Xylo had no interest in the white-haired traitor's whereabouts.

His only interest now was to watch Denmark burn. He would take everything from them, just as Nazi Germany had taken his family and his home. He didn't even know who his parents were, as they had both died before he was a year old.

With his big sack full of fun and exciting things, he continued to walk through the forest. Just a little further.

Xylo saw something move out of the corner of his eye. Ready to kill whoever was there, his head snapped towards it with great speed. But what he saw was uplifting. It was the most enchanting and precious creature he had ever seen. The fluffy bunny cautiously hopped up to Xylo.

He crouched down and brushed his disheveled black curls from his eyes. The fluffy white creature sniffed at his outstretched hand. A smile spread across his face as he looked at it. He began to stroke the creature, only to have his hand pass through it. The bunny was gone, as if it had never existed. His eyes widened at the sight of the empty ground before him. He scowled slightly as he got to his feet. He didn't like it when his eyes played tricks on him.

"Stupid eyes." He muttered as he began to walk again.

"Oh, you're hallucinating more? It's not uncommon, don't worry. Let me help you through it." A deep and husky voice told him. Xylo looked down at his hand, smiling.

"Thanks, Axey!" He chirped back.

"Now, concentrate on our target, Xylo." His deep voice rang out. Xylo nodded and began his little hike up the hill.

There he stood, looking across Denmark. He wasn't angry anymore, and he certainly wasn't afraid. But he couldn't understand what he felt. Was it excitement?

"Let's bomb those buildings and watch them get what they deserve." Axey's voice was calm and almost reminiscent of Benjamin's.

Bombs exploded left and right. There were screams everywhere as Benjamin ran from his apartment. Explosions were all over the city. Nobody knew who was responsible. Nobody but Benjamin and the police.

Sirens blared as they desperately tried to find the culprit. And Benjamin stared in horror at the numerous fires spreading across the land.

The doctor ran out of the city as fast as he could, and countless civilians followed in his footsteps. Some shouted English, but most spoke Danish. Although he was still learning the language, he was able to discern certain cries for help.

Once out of town, he headed for one of the hills. He barely made it before another bomb went off, blowing up the remaining citizens who had followed him. The bomb seemed to be tossed. And it was tossed from right behind him.

He turned quickly and was greeted with a sadistic grin. A face with a dusting of freckles staring back at him. His clothes drenched with blood, and his axe dripped with the gore of a fresh kill.

Axe in hand, Xylo kicked a burning corpse and approached Benjamin.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't Benny." His voice cracked with laughter. "Can you believe it, Axey?"

Frosty blue eyes clashed with emerald green ones in the intense and chaotic confusion of the scene. Benjamin approached him calmly yet hurriedly. His voice was shy, but his words were reassuring. However, Xylo could barely hear him over the sirens and shouts.

"It's okay, Xylo. Take my hand, I'll help you." Benjamin's outstretched hand quickly recoiled. He was ashamed of his words after seeing Xylo's reaction. He frowned at the doctor and the anger slowly flickered back into him.

"I DON'T NEED HELP. I DON'T NEED YOU. I DON'T NEED ANYONE." He yelled like a child at Benjamin and slowly reached into his bag. He would pull out another bomb, Benjamin was certain. He tried again to sympathize with his patient as he approached. He was at a loss for words. Xylo was so unpredictable at times that he could find hatred in the smallest of things.

He hated lying, but he couldn't think of anything else at the moment. He told Xylo that he did like him, that he did love him. And that, in spite of his fear, he wanted to live with Xylo. In retrospect, Benjamin shouldn't have been so forward, but it was too late. Xylo stared at Benjamin for a moment, unsure if he should trust the man, then put the bomb back in his bag.

The sirens came closer as he scoffed.

"Are you lying? Why... why would you love me?" Xylo wanted to believe him, but something stood in his way. He had no desire to be the victim of another betrayal.

"I do. Please, have faith in me! I always wanted the best for everybody." Xylo was in tears as he ran to the white-haired adult. He was convinced that angels existed, at least one. His angel.

The police were close, and Xylo felt it. He took Benjamin's wrist and dragged him into the woods. Xylo left his bag of bombs behind, and the two of them ran off into the woods.
