I ran through the dark forest as fast as my human legs could carry me.
Confusion and pain from my wounds adding to the sheer panic I felt whenever I heard the smallest sounds arround me.

It was after me.

Every breath I took felt like it might be my last. I don't even know what's after me for fucks sake. I don't remember. It made me angry. I wanted to turn arround but I was too scared, I could only run for now.
I saw a hill. My brain wasn't working quite right and I ran towards it, yearning any kind of advantage I might get from the speed boost but it never came.... Atleast not in my favor.

I tripped

I rolled down the hill, trought the rough hard roots of the old trees arround. I clutched my head trying to shield myself. Small rocks and sticks cut my hands and I bit my lip hard to suspress a yelp or any kind of sound really. I shut my eyes tight. I was scared. How did I even end up in this situation? What did I do to this thing?

I got lost in thought and didn't realize that I had stopped rolling. Damn it it was going to catch up.

I looked at my foot again. My olive shorts vere ripped a bit and the deep cut on the back of my leg was still there but I couldn't stop.
I got up. I didn't have time.

Just as I started running immense pressure hit me. I dropped to my knees with a groan. It felt like I was deep underwater. The sky, the sky turned Black. Everything suddenly got so dark. How could the sky be so dark!? My ears started to ring. I struggled to breathe.

It was here.

It was comming. I fought and held onto the nearest tree for support. It didn't help. I fell again. I scratched my palm. It hurt. I took a look at it and saw the bits of messed up skin as I listened to the leaves rustling behind me. Approaching. Little by little. Slowly.
It was taunting me and it worked well.
I desperately looked forward, searching for anything that might be helpful and just then my eyes widened. A cabin.

I tried again. I dug my hails into the tree crust and desperately pulled myself up. Then I focused on my legs. I had to be quick. I was scared. My heart was pounding. My lungs felt like they where on fire. And I ran.
Once again but now towards the cabin.
It was made out of some kind of wood I didn't recognize on the dark.
I started trying to unlock the door but it didn't work.
Then it hit me. It would look for me there.

I ran behind the cabin and hid as quiet as possible, praying that it didn't see me go there. Just then I heard a loud Bang as the door got shattered.
I got on my knees so I wasn't visible from inside but something was pulling me towards it, calling me to reveal myself.
It looked arround and I could heat it pushing and throwing furniture.
Just then I noticed a small fox den by a nearby tree.
That was my chance. I crawled in, not carring about my cloathing getting dirty and my wounds hurting.
I was crouched down there, panting, horrified. My eyes where filled with tears and I didn't even know what was going on.
Why didn't I remember? Why was the sky darker then this fox den... How even.

Now... I don't know if it was the stress, the pain or the lack of fresh air but I somehow passed out into a deep slumber.
