Lilah

First Day Back

"Ms. Lilah please wake up, it's time for you to wake up"                                                                                        My eyes opened as I saw Mrs. Ella next to me. Ah shit, first day of school today...

I slowly got out of bed and thanked Mrs. Ella. Soon I got changed and grabbed my earphones as I listened to New Phone by Connor Price and Ktyln. I checked the time and saw I had 5 minutes until class started, I quickly hurried to the kitchen and grabbed an apple and left. I ran to the bus stop as the bus left.

"Oh come on! Fuck!" I said as I looked down to the floor.  I'll just have to run I thought as I started running down the street to school. About 20 mins after I arrived to class looking like I was in a marathon. I looked to my teacher, luckily she had not noticed me. I quietly walked to a seat at the back of class.

"Ms. Thompson, your late". I stopped as I looked back at my teacher, the whole class was looking at me, wow what a way to start the year. "Sorry, I just missed the bus this morning" I said as I tried to give her my sweetest smile. "Really? it looks as if you just woke up" my teacher said as she chuckled. I rolled my eyes as I took my seat and got my books out.

"Psst, Lilah" 

"Lilah... Lilah!" 

I turned my head to my friend Mary as the teacher looked at us and I tried to hold my laugh in. "What's up?" I asked as I put my earphones on. "Late again?".

"This time it wasn't my fault, it was the stupid bus driver who decided I wasn't important enough to stop for" I said as I started doing doodles in my book. Mary laughed before she looked back up to the board. "Classic Lilah" Mary muttered while writing down some notes

I nodded my head to the music as Mockingbird by Eminem played when my name was called on by the teacher. I took one earphone out as I looked up. "Yes?" I asked looking at the teacher. "Can you please give us the answer to this equation?" I looked to the board and then back to the teacher. "Umm... well" I went silent, I had no idea what I was doing, math sucks... The teacher looked at me and sighed before asking to see me after class. Ah shit... this ain't gonna be good...

"Ms. Thompson, I'm very concerned for you and how your going with the work in my class" the teacher said. It was now the end of the class and I was stuck with the stupid math teacher. "I'm going fine thanks" the teacher looked at me concerned. "Alright just ask me if you have any questions in class" "Mhm" I said as I left class and headed to the cafeteria for recess. 

"Mary!" I said as I took a seat next to her. "Lilah..." Mary replied with a voice full of sarcasm. "Where's Charles?" I ask as I looked around. "Flirting with the new kids and failing as usual" Lilah said as she nodded her head to where Charles was. Charles was one of my closest friends, we was an idiotic happy guy and I was an idiotic happy girl so we were really close... 

Charles soon came to sit with us. "I have successfully failed to get a girlfriend" he said as he smiled. "As usual" Mary said as she took ate a spoon off the disgusting cafeteria food, I laughed at her remark. 

"You guys going to see the rap battles tonight?" I asked looking at the two. "Yep, I'm pretty sure Freeze and Dr. Ray are going against each other tonight" 

"Sick" I said as my eyes sparkled... "You going Charles?" we looked at Charles as he looked away. "Sorry I can't" I frowned at Charles response. "Alright, that's fine"

Every Monday and Friday we go and seethe rap battles going on in town. It's so cool! I love rapping and writing the lyrics. And Charles and Mary think it's  pretty sick too!

Soon the day came to an end and I headed to the rap battles with Mary. We  listened to Without Me by Eminem on the way and soon we arrived.

 "Hey are you Lilah?" a guy asked me as we arrived. I looked at him and recognized him, he worked here as a manager I think. "Yes who are you?" I asked as I went closer to Mary. "I work for Dr. Ray. he said he'd like to see you" the man said as he smiled. "Me? He wants to see me?" I ask in disbelief. "Yes please follow me" the man said as he walked to the door that said staff only. I looked to Mary and we followed the man.
