"why do you always look at the stars outside? don't the flies bother you?"
"it's relaxing to wish on a star even though it doesn't come true. would you like to try shinobu?"

"heizou! right here!" a voice echoed through the hallway. the young boy named heizou turned around to see another boy with white hair, and a red streak of it standing out.
heizou smiled than waved. "hey zu! why were you absent last friday? did something happen?"
"well, i made these!" kazuha said handing the other a bouquet of flower origami. "it's cute.." heizou said smiling softly.
"why'd you have to do this? miss yae already informed us about having a test yesterday." heizou asked holding the bouquet in his hands.
kazuha smiled sadly then replied, "because i love you."
"kazuha.. i thought.." heizou said in a sad voice. "i know, but i still want to try." kazuha said smiling at the other.
heizou clenched his teeth then looked down on the floor. "you deserve someone who loves you back zu.. someone who can treat you better.. i only see you as my best friend.." heizou said gripping the bouquet.
kazuha looked at heizou with a pained expression. "i know, but i still love you! as long as i do i'll keep trying! until-"
"until when? until you don't love me anymore?" heizou said finishing kazuha's words.
"... i guess.." kazuha said in a quiet voice looking at the ground.
"well, if that's what you want, then do so." heizou said with a smile patting kazuha's head. "thank you for the gift zuzu! now i gotta go to class! see you later!" heizou saif running away towards his classroom.

heizou and the arataki gang were strolling around at the park. while the other members of the gang went to annoy some random people, heizou and kuki were having a conversation.
"so, how's school been heizou?" shinobu asked as she walked beside heizou. "it's fine i guess.. how about you shinobu? how are you doing with your studies?" heizou replied.
the two talked about random things until heizou came across a certain place. "let's go there." heizou said, suddenly dragging kuki towards the place. "woah! don't run i'm gonna trip!"
the two stopped in front of what seemed to be a wishing well. "hmm it looks nice, but i don't get why you're here." shinobu said looking down inside the well.
"what if i make a wish here?" heizou said taking his wallet out of his pocket. "i mean, sure do as you wish but i don't really believe in these kinds of things." shinobu said placing her right hand on her hip.
shinobu watched as heizou threw the coin into the water as the coin sank quickly. "so what did you wish for?" kuki asked.
"that's a secret." heizou replied, staring at the water. "well, whatever it was i hope you won't regret it. you can only wish once you know." kuki said, following what heizou was doing .
"how are you sure that i can only wish once?" heizou asked, then kuki simply points onto a sign. "throw any coin, and say what you wish for. but know that you can only use this well once in your lifetime." heizou read the sign out loud.
"okay to be honest, the person who wrote that sucks at these magical things." kuki sent a feedback.
"let's just go.. it's getting late." heizou said dragging shinobu again.
...
the next day came but while heizou walked through the hallway, he didn't hear any of kazuha's voice that usually yelled for his name. did heizou's wish work?
heizou went towards his first class, then the teacher discussed about random things he already knows. but if he was going to be honest, it does feel lonely without the boy.
an hour later and it was time for heizou's next class. it was a subject he and kazuha had in common. as he walked into the classroom, he saw a certain purple haired boy leaning onto the person heizou had been looking for.
heizou's wish worked! kazuha found someone! but why did heizou feel his heart getting heavy every every second he saw the two.
"oh hey heizou! i want you to meet someone!" kazuha said waving at heizou. heizou's eyes lit up as kazuha noticed him.
"hey zu.. didn't see you a while ago.. who's this person?" heizou said walking towards the desk.
"this is my lover, scaramouche." kazuha said smiling as he looked at the male leaning on his shoulder. heizou's heart sank as he heard that.
"and kuni, this is heizou." kazuha said patting scaramouche's head.
"nice to meet you i guess.." scaramouche said continuing to scroll through his phone. "come on kuni~ don't be shy!" kazuha said pinching scara's cheek.
"whatever.." scaramouche said shoving kazuha's hand away, then looked down to cover a red face. "heizou was it? hi.. and uhh.. shut up!" scaramouche said shoving his face into kazuha's chest.
"sorry heizou, he has trouble socializing with anyone. but i find it cute though." kazuha said in a flirty tone making scaramouche tug the other's shirt.
"you both are so cute! such a perfect couple.." heizou said in a cheery voice, trying to hold a tear. "well i have to go to my seat now! class is about to start!" heizou said then rushed towards his own seat at the back.
heizou lied his head into his arms on the table then started to quietly sob. this is what heizou wanted. heizou is supposed to be happy. so why? why was he crying like this?
there was no way to undo it all now. and it would be too cruel to ruin kazuha's relationship with the scaramouche just to be with him.

the nighttime soon came and heizou was gazing at the starts. it was a hobby he got from kazuha.
kazuha always said that while staring at the stars you must close your eyes then make a wish. what a dumb thing to do. kazuha even said that they won't come true anyway..
..but he always said it felt like your heart just lifts up.
"i wished on a well, he finds someone better."
"i wish on a star, i was that better person."
"i wished on a well, he finds someone who loves him back."
"i wish on a star i realized it sooner."
"i wished on a well, he finds someone else who isn't me."
"i wish on a star it never came true."
