Chapter 2

"Chris! I didn't know you were coming"

"Yeah, it was a last minute decision. Didn't know if I could get the time off of work."

I walked over to where he was standing to calm down Roxy. She wasn't to fond of strangers until she knew I was comfortable with them.

"Shhhh Roxy he's alright I guess"

I touched his arm to emphasize that I was ok with him and she immediately calmed down. As for me, the touch sent tingles throughout my body and had my heart racing. I looked at Chris to see if he felt it too. He just smirked at me and bent over to pet her and let Roxy sniff him.

As he was greeting her I looked him over for the first time in years. I hadn't seen Chris since we broke up at the age of 17. Its been almost 10 years and he definitely was no longer a teenage boy. He stood almost a foot talker than my measly five feet and had filled out his well. I could easily see that he was very fit under his light sweater but not overly muscly. His hair was darker than I remember almost black. When he looked up I got lost into his beautiful dark blue eyes. They were always a favorite feature of mine. When we were dating people always thought our eyes were very similar. He stood up and broke me out of my reverie.

"Sorry, she's very protective of me"

"It's ok. I love dogs so I'm sure we'll be good friends soon"

Tyson cleared his throat. "Are you guys done flirting, I'm freezing my ass off out here. Let's get our stuff inside and hit the slopes"

We all grabbed our bags and just threw them inside. We would sort out our rooms later. I put Roxy inside and told her to behave while we were gone. We decided to all just squeeze in to Tyson's suv and threw the boards on the roof. Seeing I was the smallest I immediately jumped into the third row of seats. Surprisingly Chris decided to hop in the back with me. It was a tight fit to say the least.

He draped his arm across the seat behind me brushing along my back. My heart starting racing again with just his leg brushing mine. I could just imagine him wrapping his arm around me and pulling me closer. I shook my head to try and clear my dirty thoughts. Must be because I haven't had sex in so long. After so many years with Sean I wasn't used to this abstinence.

"Are you ok Bella? You seem a little out of it"

"Yeah sorry, just daydreaming"

"Hopefully about me" he whispers in me ear. His breath caresses my neck and makes me shiver. I give him a bewildered look and he just smirked at me. What the hell was that all about I thought to myself.

We arrived at the mountain a few minutes later and all piled out. I was so excited I was practically bouncing up and down.

"Calm down Bella will you" Danielle looks at me like I'm crazy.

"I'm just excited. I can't help it"

We all get out lift passes and split up. Everyone started on the easier slopes, but I headed straight for the black diamond. Chris hops onto the lift next to me.

"You do know you're going to a black diamond right"

"Yep, you think you can keep up" I laugh at him.

"Is that a challenge missy?"

"Chris, we haven't seen each other in years but you know I'm always up for a challenge"

We reach the top, get off the lift and strap our boots into our boards.

"One, two, three go!"I shout as I race down the trail. Chris is laughing behind me but it's doubtful he'll catch up. I reach the bottom in record time with him a little ways behind me. We both are out of breath and laughing hysterically.

Most of the day goes by much of the same way. Chris and I pretty enjoy all the same trails so we stick together and barely saw everyone else. Just before twilight we get stuck in the middle of a ski lift. I grab Chris' arm a little scared.

"Are we going to be stuck up here all night? I've watched Frozen and do not want to get ripped apart by wolves"

"Don't be ridiculous Bella. I wouldn't let you get eaten by anything. Well besides me."

"God, when did you become such a perv"

"When did you become such a turn on"

Just then we heard an announcement on the speaker stating that they were having technical difficulties and it would only be a couple of minutes.

"Thank god, I kind of hate heights". I whisper and move a little closer to Chris. He wraps his arm around me and we sit in silence for a few minutes. It's starts to snow a little but I didn't mind to much.

"You know this is kinda romantic Bella"

"Maybe if you were here with someone else"

"I don't want to be with anyone at this moment besides you"

He slowly leans into me and caresses the side of my face with the tips of his fingers. I cant help but lean into his hand and stare into his beautiful dark blue eyes. They deepen to almost black as he closes the distance between us. He softly touches his lips to mine and says

"I'm going to kiss you now Bella. This is your only chance to stop me"

I close the small distance between us and kiss him. His hand moves to the bottom of my back and slides under my jacket. He pulls me impossibly closer. The kiss starts off sweet but soon we are battling with our tongues for dominance and it turns hot and passionate. I whimper into his mouth. It must've broke something inside of him and he starts to go wild. His hands are all over trying to feel through layers of clothing. I run my hands through his beautifully soft dark hair. One hand slides under my sweater and makes it's way up my ribcage while the other is brushing through my hair. I just keep kissing him without thought until I feel a cold callused hand slide under my bra and he feels my breast. I moan at the sensation and that urges him on. His mouth slides down my throat and to my ear. A personal weakness of mine that he must've remembered. As he's kissing my ear he caresses first one breast then moves over to the other. I'm gasping for air and can't stop moaning at all the pleasure he is giving me. Suddenly he rolls my nipple between my fingers and I can't help but clutch him closer. My hands slide under his jacket and many layers to touch the hot bare skin of his back.

There is a sudden lurching and the lift starts moving breaking us out of our spell. I pull away and try to straighten up as I catch my breath. I'm baffled at the passion we just shared. It was nothing like that with Sean. Don't get me wrong, it was great with him but never was I so uncontrolled. Never had I wanted something so bad.

"Wow" is all Chris says.

"Definitely wow"

We finally get off the ski lift and take our time down the mountain now that it's dark. We head to the ski lodge where everyone is waiting in silence.

"What happened guys, the trails closed like a half hour ago. Where were you?" Robert asked.

Luckily Chris was quick to reply and told them how we got stuck. I sat exhausted until everyone was ready to head home. It was nearly 8 and I was ready to see my dog and then crash. We all piled into the car, Chris and I in the tiny third row again and started to head to the cabin.

"Oh Bella and Chris I almost forgot to mention. You're kinda gonna have to share a room seeing as how you're the only ones not a couple. There's just the spare master downstairs for sleeping areas left." Tyson told us from the driver seat.

"Shit guys, why didn't you tell me this before I agreed to come."

"What are you scared of Bella. I won't bite...too much" Chris whispers in my ear. He knows how that gets to me.

"Come on Bella, you're both adults. You'll be fine" was all Tyson replies.

All I could think of was that kiss on the lift and then sleeping in the same room as Chris. Yeah I'll be fine alright. What a long week of no sleep it's going to be.
