In the picturesque village of Nazaria, two sisters, Maryam and Leora, were born to parents who were laborers in the olive gardens. Their house was humble, with walls made of sunbaked clay and a roof of intertwined palm leaves. Their childhood was filled with the soft chirping of birds, the tantalizing aroma of blooming flowers, and the comforting hum of their mother's lullabies.

However, when Maryam was only seven and Leora five, tragedy struck. A sudden fever took their parents away, leaving the sisters orphaned and utterly alone. Their only possession was an old Bible, passed down through generations. They were forced into the streets, relying on the mercy of villagers and the teachings from the pages they held close.
