Chapter 1 - North Lily

Character Backstory - North Lily (Gem Bonded)

North's father was a very strong and large man, a wizard, one who dabbled into the source of dark magic, her mother, a small loyal friend to him then soon his wife. North comes from a side of the family with a very strong bloodline of witches and wizards, families that only married those who would make their offspring strong.

Norths father, the youngest in the bloodline had broken that line of strength by marring a poor townsperson, thinking nothing much as his brothers had the full center of attention on their incredible abilities and knowledge of magic. That did not become the case as the two brothers had then fallen ill due to the use of dark forbidden magic, leaving the youngest to carry the bloodline only to have already fell in love with a non-magic blood woman.

Her father's side was disgusted, saying he had tainted the future of their bloodline for falling in love with another but the family didn't stay long, in fact both sides of the family disapproved of their love.

North's mother comes from a poor family who often had the misfortune of having bad experiences with people who used magic, even worse those who could withstand the effects of dark magic. It was often said that their lack of money and clothes was due to a witch cursing their great great grandmothers blood for loving the man the witch wished to take for herself, but there was no real proof that was the case instead it was hinted that most of the family was jealous of magic users for they seemed to have much simpler lives.

North's mother loved her life, she didn't care if she and her family was poor for she had other things that made her happy, one being North's father when they had met. Her sister, North's aunt, looked highly of her, how she was able to get through the hardships of everyday and be there for her little siblings and still have a smile on her face. She enjoyed working, even if the only job she could get in the town paid so little, to her it was enough to care for her family and help raise her siblings.

Her family could never afford schooling or books, so when she made friends with North's father, a particularly rich and smart man, she set out to learn as much as she could by his side so she could help her family in better ways, only leaving her to have fallen in love and those waiting at home disowning her for trying to learn how to use magic along side a dark wizard and abandoning them.

Her siblings were never angry that she fell in love with a magic man, her brother even tried to reason with their parents many times that her falling in love with a rich man could help them, however they did not care if he was the richest man in the kingdom, the fact she loved and soon bore a child with a wizard meant she was dead to the family name.

The two were alone with only each other and the distant support of North's mothers siblings, her fathers family and brothers died due to the extreme use of dark magic and no true way of controlling it. Her father, however, his goal was finding a way to control it, he spent all his life and traveled with North's mother to find a way to contain the effects of using dark magic and he did just that.

A shard from a crystal, able to contain great amounts of dark magic was the key to him being able to control it with no consequence. By then, North was just a newly born, named after the north star in the sky by her mother and favorite flower by her father, being a Lily, before she was even 2 tragedy struck her family.

With the use of the crystal, North's father was able to achieve many things. He was able to provide for his family in the best ways possible, and when he learned that their daughter had no magical abilities passed from his side, he planned when she is of age to give her a small piece of the crystal to wear so she may be able to learn simple spells with no effect of dark magic.
