"Wow. Halfway through their coffee and a game of chess..." A man said as he looked over Elani's discarded cup. "Looks like whoever was manning the hub left quick,"

"Or left for the loo," Elani revealed as she entered the room.

The taller gentleman raised his gun at her.

"You two must be Samuel and Dean Winchester," Elani noted.

"You know who we are?" The one with the gun voiced.

"Of course, Men of Letters keeps track of all their legacies,"

"We only just found out about this place...how do you know about it?"

"Of course. Where are my manners? My name is Elani Cartwright; I'm from the British Agency. I have my documents if you'd like," Elani reached for her portfolio but Sam waved her off.

"No, no...but you're a kid,"

"I'm 16 years old." Elani corrected, "We're only allowed to join once we reach the age of 13,"

Sam and Dean both gave the girl perplexed glances.

"Shall I show you to the rooms? There's plenty to choose from...minus my room, of course," Elani lead the boys through the bunker.

Dean nudged Sam as they walked around. "Dude, we found the Batcave,"

"Morning," Elani greeted the boys as she entered the library room.

"Morning," Sam muttered as he continued to look over the literature.

"The water pressure in the letters' shower room is marvelous," Dean noted.

"Yeah. I still can't figure out how we even have water...or electricity,"

Elani shrugged. "Your guess is as good as mine. British remember,"

Dean chuckled as he noticed one of Elani's rapiers on the table. "This stuff is awesome, and it looks like they ran a real tight outfit here," he began to play around with the rapier.

Elani cleared her throat. "As much as I enjoy us being roommates. I would really appreciate it if you didn't touch my things," she took the rapier and secured it to her waist.

"That's yours?" Dean asked, amazed.

"Of course. All agents receive a rapier after passing the Third Grade,"

"I thought you said you weren't able to join til 13?" Sam questioned.

"I did. Third Grade is just the third level of training we have to go to in order to graduate. Now, can I interest any of you gentlemen for a coffee or tea?"

"Hey!" Dean greeted as he descended the steps into the bunker.

"Hey," Sam said. "So...How's Kevin doing?"

"He's okay, I guess." Dean shrugged. "In his corner, hacking out his Da Vinci Code. Nothing actionable yet. Garth says Hi, by the way. Anything from Cass?"

"No." Sam said, "Not...not a peep. Why? You?"

"No, he's, uh...he's not answering,"

"Well, uh, so I've been working with Elani trying to chart out the Letters' Network of hunters, their allies, uh, affiliated groups they worked with, kept files on,"

"Circa 1958?"

"Yeah. True. Most are dead or defunct, but others...I'm not so sure. And this one..." Sam handed over a Men of Letters file over to Dean "You should definitely check out,"

"The Judah Initiative?" Dean read.

"European team...they were active during World War II,"

"Really? Hunters fighting in a war...that's cool,"

"Not exactly hunters, n-n-not exactly fighting, but, uh..."

"Rabbis," Dean noted. "Rabbis?"

Sam nodded.

"Really?"

"The Letters' file on them is sketchy, but apparently, they were hard-core saboteurs. So, I ran a search on the initiative's entire roster, and I got a hit...one Rabbi Isaac Bass. He was 17 years old when he joined the initiative and 85 years old when he died...two weeks ago." Sam turned his computer so Dean could see the article "In a college town back east, he was capped,"

"Capped?"

"Yeah. He was there doing research, and according to eyewitnesses, he spontaneously combusted"

"So...this is a case?" Dean groaned as he leaned back in his chair. "I just got back,"

Sam let Elani out of the Impala, and the duo walked towards the campus library.

Elani turned as the Impala took off further down the road. "He doesn't trust me. Does he?"

"It takes a while for him to adjust to new things." Sam glanced warily at the rapier that she had attached to her waist. "Umm..."

"There's a fencing team here. Don't worry, I also do my research to ensure I'm able to blend in with your American lifestyle," Elani said as she headed towards the doors of the library.

Sam nodded. "Right,"

***

"So you...worked with the late Rabbi Bass?" The Librarian voiced.

Sam nodded. "I was a research associate of Rabbi Bass, yes. I'm trying to complete his last paper for publication. I'd just like to review what he was after here,"

"Well, that would be quite a lot of material. He was here open to close for almost a week,"

"Wow." Sam glanced down at Elani. "Um, how about just the stuff he was looking at...you know, the day he...caught fire?"

"Does shorten the list a bit," The Librarian nodded.

Elani opened the box for the Rabbi's work and quirked an eyebrow in confusion as she showed the title to Sam. "What would a Rabbi want with North American birds?"

"I'm not sure,"

Elani glanced up, and her eyes widened. "We should go,"

Sam looked around. "What...why?"

"We need to go," Elani hurried.

Sam pulled out his phone to call Dean.

"Yeah," Dean answered.

"Hey, so Elani and I looked into the Rabbi's research. It doesn't make much sense..." Sam said as he watched the teenager look around hesitantly. "Um...bird watching,"

"Huh. Well, uh, the two very hot co-captains of the women's volleyball team agreed that the rabbi's death was very unnatural. I think we still got a case,"

"That would explain why I have something stuck to my shoe,"

Elani moved to speak, but Sam held a finger to his lips.

"You being followed?" Dean asked.

"Yeah, I think so,"

"That's weird. I thought I was being followed earlier. Turned out to be a gay thing,"

"What?"

"Nothing. You need a hand?"

"Yes, please. Got someplace quiet?"

"Visitors parking...the boonies. I'll park in the back. 30 minutes,"

Sam hung up and grabbed Elani's arm "Come on,"
