It had been a few weeks since Elijah had been daggered. And Madeline Gilbert was angry. She knew how Elijah was the one person who cared for just her and not part of the save Elena patrol. She hated it.

Elena had tried to talk to her.  But Maddie wasn't having it. She had been staying in Elijah's penthouse that he had. Hoping that he wouldn't mind.

Maddie wanted nothing more than to find where Elijah was and bring him back. She didn't want to help Elena. Not after she had taken the one person who loved her unconditionally.

Maddie lifted her shirt and sighed. She has a dark purple bruise on her chest. And it was obvious it was where Elijah had been daggered.

The door opened and Lily walked in. She smiled. "Hey. I figured you'd be here. Elena and Damon are looking for you," she said.

Maddie shrugged. "I don't care. They can actually fuck off. Until they give me Elijah back, I don't want nothing to do with them. I don't care that Elena is my sister. She can rot with Katherine in the tomb."

"Yeah. About that. Katherine was let out of the tomb when Elijah was daggered. We don't know where she is," Lily told her.

"Let's hope she goes after Damon then. No offence."

"None taken. Listen. I think Elijah might be in the boarding house basement. I'm not 100% on that," Lily said as she looked to her.

Maddie turned to her. "You think?"

"It's the only place I can think of. Damon knows you won't go there because you hate his guts. So that's the one place they would put him," Lily told her.

Maddie sighed. She lifted the shirt to show Lily. Her eyes widened. "What is that?"

"I think it's where Elijah was daggered. I don't know why it's done this to me," Maddie said.

Lily knew she needed to get the dagger out of Elijah. Or her best friend and only person she could tolerate in Mystic Falls would die. And that was one thing she didn't want.

Maddie sighed. "Don't tell anybody. I can't handle that. I don't want their sympathy," she told her.

Lily sighed as she looked to her best friend. She smiled. "I'm going to get Elijah back for you. I promise."

Lily walked over to Elena and sighed. "We need to talk Gilbert," she told her.

"Have you seen Maddie? Do you know where she is?" Elena asked. She had never wanted to hurt her sister. But she was scared that Elijah had been lying to them.

Lily nodded. "I know exactly where she is. And it's not good. We need to take the dagger out of Elijah. Or Maddie will die. She's dying because of you and the dimwit Damon. She is important to Elijah. And when he got daggered, Maddie has the same affects."

Elena's eyes widened. "My sister is going to die?"

"She will. If we don't take out the dagger. So, are you going to be the reason your sister dies?" She asked.

Elena shook her head and sighed. "No. I'm not. Okay."

"Good girl. Would save me from snapping that chain off your neck and compelling you," Lily said with a smile.
