"You really outdid yourself this time Pep," YN laughed as she took in the bridal suite. The white walls were barely visible through the mass of floral arrangements that surely matched that downstairs. Maria and Jen were chatting idly at the individual vanities that lined one side of the room while Morgan spun in front of the full-length mirror on the other.
"Thanks," Pepper answered thickly. Blinking away tears, Pepper offered YN a tight smile before joining Morgan to try and convince the little girl to get into her flower girl dress.
Everyone in the room turned as the bathroom door opened and revealed Peggy looking like a princess of another time. YN smiled to herself knowing Steve was going to embarrass himself when he saw her.
After graciously accepting the compliments from all the women in the room Peggy made her way over to the smallest of the bunch.
"I have a mission for you, if you're up for it that is," Peggy offered the little girl whose eyes lit up.
"Yes," Morgan cheered bouncing on the balls of her feet.
"I need you to take this to Uncle Steve," Peggy continued to whisper as she produced an envelope. YN choked back a laugh as the small girl reached to take it from her only to have Peggy snatch it back. "You're going to need backup," she said seriously, "who do you choose as your partner?"
Without missing a beat Morgan spun on her heels to point at her big sister. Peggy laughed as Morgan spun back around and held out her hands. "That's a fantastic choice," Peggy placed the envelope in the tiny hands before shooting a smile at YN. It had been her plan all along and YN couldn't have been more grateful as she followed Morgan as she ran out of the room.
"Slow down squirt," YN laughed as she caught the small girl's hand. "You don't want to lose that."
Morgan slipped her hand out of YNs to hold the other side of the envelope at the suggestion. YN chuckled as she navigated the child through the halls by her shoulders now that her eyes were glued to the precious cargo in her hands.
"Ready?" YN asked as they stopped in front of the door waiting for Morgan to nod before knocking.
"There's the prettiest girl at the party," Sam laughed as Morgan pushed past him when she spotted her target.
"She's a girl on a mission," YN sighed, leaning in for a hug.
"Correction," Sam laughed as he pulled away, "she's a Stark on a mission."
"Touché," YN giggled as they moved further into the room. Bruce and Thor were enamored by the small girl as she rambled on to Steve about her mission but it was Bucky who had her stopping in her tracks.
"Breathe, girl," Sam chuckled beside her but it seemed an impossible feat as she watched Bucky raise a bottle to his smiling lips. She hadn't realized that when Peggy referenced traditional dress that would mean Bucky would be adorned in a formal military uniform. A uniform that he filled out to perfection, cap tucked under his arm as he leisurely leaned against the doorframe.
"You've got a bit of drool just here," Sam laughed as she slapped his hand away from her face.
"Shut up, Sam," she laughed poking his side.
"If it makes you feel any better, looks like you are having the same effect on him," Sam dodged another hit from her with a wiggle of his brows.
She rolled her eyes before turning back to Bucky to find his eyes roaming over her hungrily. The dusty rose 50s-inspired dress may not have been her style but she was a fan of the way it had Bucky looking at her. She was able to fix a smirk on her face in time for his eyes to find hers. He raised a brow at her while his eyes darkened, making her blush. She started toward him slowly only to make a hard turn to where her sister was still babbling on and on.
