Chapter 1
Tears falling down her face as she puts on her headphones,
Can't stay at home, Can't stay at school
Old folks say, "You poor little fool"
down the streets on the girl next door
I'm the fox you've been waiting for
Her doorknob starts to rattle, "open the door." her dad says in an angry, calm voice. "No!" she shouts "Stop being so difficult, cherry brown!" He shouts back. He starts pounding on the door as the 12-year-old runs towards her window. She opens it and jumps onto the roof, then she closes the window. As she walks on the roof, her dad breaks into her room yelling for her. She finds out herself or her scape bladder would be, but it's not there. Oh no, what should I do? She thought to herself there was only nowhere to go, but one but down, so she jumped. CRACK!
.......
As we're walking down the hallway, I can't help but be reminded about my past. The thought of my dad sends a shiver up my spine. I'm walking with my best friend Eden, we're practically sisters since we grew up with each other. Eden has dyed black hair and green eyes (like the trees). She's wearing a long-sleeved shirt, a velvet corset, and a long black skirt at her hips. She reaches into her messenger bag and pulls out a card. Oh shoot, it's my birthday. I think to myself, I give her a shock to look, "Thanks" I say gratefully opening up the card and confetti. I hear people, snickering and whispering "Blah, Eden did you have to do that?" I whispered angrily. "I thought it was pretty cool," Eden said, sounding a little glum. I was embarrassed. I feel a slight pain in my arm, for when I broke it from the time I broke it I continued writing down notes. I glanced over to see one of my other best friends Rocky. He has bronze-colored hair that goes so well with his beautiful golden-brown eyes, he's so pretty. Class is over so I catch up to Eden and Rocky, " Hello birthday girl", Rocky says in his Australian accent, I say thank you for his kind gesture. "Anyways, I got you a present, birthday girl" "I also got you some presents but I was going to give them to you at lunch," Eden said after taking a moment to process what Rocky had just said, " Thanks guys but you didn't have to." I said gratefully. " We know, you say that every year they said in unison.
.......
As I am walking out of the class I see Michelle, my ex best friend from high school. I quickly put on my headphones. Just to seem busy. My plan failed, they're walking over here " Hello confetti girl" Michelle snickered with her henchmen laughing behind her. " What do you want Michelle" I say annoyed at her comment " What I want for you is to hand over what is mine." She replied. " No, Rocky is my friend, and he's not a possession that you own." I say quickly before walking away. I turn on my music while I walk to Starbucks
with or without you
with or without you
The music sings, extending you, " Rocky isn't an object," I say to myself annoyed that she said mine. He's such a nice guy who cares about all of his friends and who also happens to be a really attractive person personality-wise, of course.
.......
" Stupid Michelle on her stupid lovely dreads even says frustratedly. She called me and asked Rocky questions. " Yep," I answered. We all stop talking for a second, the awkward silence filling the room. Then Eden pulled out her gift " Present time!" she exclaimed trying to get out of the awkward silence. I grab Eden's present which is covered in white skulls, with a black background. not to mention the giant oversized bow. " Wow, I'm going to keep this bow," I say while taking off the bow carefully. I start ripping off the wrapping paper to see a brand new Cassette tape, "Whitesnake!" I say excitedly, "Where did you get this, " I actually got it for free at this little video and music store just down the block Eden replied, " Really, for free?" Rocky said skeptically " Yep, she said that it's been there since it came out." " Wow.". Eden walked outside as I threw away the wrapping paper When I sat back down, she walked back in holding this beautiful black leather jacket " Here this is also for you, it was in my dad's hammy down for me I wouldn't wear it as often as you would so I'm letting you have it." Eden said calmly.
