Chapter two: Holt
Walking over to these creatures their skin glows, some are darker colors than others. The one I approach is big and burly with a rugged dememor. The creature is just a centimeter or two taller than myself.
I let them know that they can join us or they are against us and we will move them out of the way if need be. They whisper back and forth before the large creature responds back to me saying that they are willing to help. It would have been easy to listen in to there conversation but
I decided against it for the time being. The one behind him is smaller with a face much like a Bratz doll. Eyes that are three times they should be. They are a soft sparkly purple with golden speckles. His skin is pitch black with a purple like glow coming off of him, he carries most of his weight in his legs unlike the larger creature who seems to hold it in his arms and stomach. The smaller one seems to act as a form of logic for the others.
The small one tells me that I will be communicating with the one named Ash. Ash is a weird red glowing color with lizard-like eyes and tattoos that make it look like there is fire covering their body. They look kind of like dolls or out of some sort of movie.
Walking back to the rest of the men who decided to join me on this little mission.
"They agreed to help. It seems they are able to speak English, however I'm not sure if all of them can. I was a little shocked about there being no language barrier despite us not having any experience with these creatures."
"They most likely taught themselves." My right hand says. He has been studying multiple types of aliens since we were young. "They would have to pick up dialects quickly to be able to survive. I imagine they are creatures that travel quite often. Reading this book I found on the moon, He said that he has had a run in with these creatures. They are able to pick up languages after just hearing a sentence or two. They also apparently are all able to control some sort of thing that has to do with life and nature."
"That could be dangerous to us."
"That could be except they are obviously quite docile and aren't going to take a chance on being overpowered. They are overly cautious creatures that are completely unaware of their own power." He says reading from his book. "I don't think we have much to worry about."
"Alright. I'll trust you on that." I say before pulling another tree out of the ground.
"They also have no idea that you are the only one who has the ability to tear trees out of the ground like that. The longer we can keep them in the dark about that the better."
"If they pick up languages that quickly there is no way that they won't be able to figure out that I'm the only one with these abilities. It will only be a matter of time."
"I see your point. We can't have them getting ideas though."
"I don't think they will. They seem pretty scared of losing any more of their friends. I doubt they will do anything risky." I say looking over at the One called Ash who is walking towards us.
"Let's keep it that way." My friend says before going to talk with others.
"Hello." The creature says with a strange accent, it isn't anything I have heard before. His accent doesn't match the other two either. None of their accents match each other it seems. It doesn't make sense. "I was told to give my assistance to you. Whatever you need."
"Great, If you don't mind helping move the supplies around. We need to be able to get these things moving as quickly as possible. I am hoping we get this done before winter comes around and knocks us on our ass."
"Of course. Others will help too as soon as we are able to figure out a system again. Most of our leaders are dead or injured." Ash explains to me as it heads over to help my men.
I find it quite odd how he would give such information so willingly. Are these creatures trusting of others to a fault? No, it doesn't seem like it, the large one. Oak I think, didn't seem to like nor trust me all that much. I wonder if they are all from different cultures, backgrounds. Maybe they were once on an earth with multiple types of aliens, cultures, and religions and something happened to make them all glow and have to live together. Sounds kinda dumb but it makes the most sense for how different they are from each other. The powers though, I'm not sure how to explain that part quite yet. I'll have to keep an eye on them at least until we finish building.
I notice the smaller one with the purple eyes watching me back with discontent. He doesn't seem happy with his decision. He really looks like he would be more than happy to kill me at any given moment. He turns away flipping his long loosely curled white hair from off his shoulder. I notice a slight limp in his step as he walks over to someone who is lying against a tree. He had a brief interaction with the other before heading over to the large one and they have a more extensive conversation.
Oak nods at whatever the smaller one says before heading over to Ash and giving his help to my men as well. The one that is leaning on the tree also eventually heads over to help after watching Oak. It is obvious that many of them seem to look to Oak for guidance on what to do. It's interesting. If I can convince the large creature to want to live like us humans the others will follow. I walk over to the large creature to see if I can push him toward the idea.
