Chapter 5

Chandler's POV

It's Friday night and I don't know what to wear for melody's party tomorrow ughhh. I've never gone to one of these things so I have no idea what to do, wait I know my red jeans,with my black v-neck, and my leather jacket with the hoodie thing, and my black converse that works, but know its nine o clock and I'm so tired time to sleep.

Saturday morning, 8:00 am

My cell phone rang and I woke up instantly to answer it, it was melody.

Call

Me: "hello" I said tiredly

Her:"oh my did I wake you up I'm sorry go back to sleep I'm sorry

Me: no it's ok I can't go back to sleep after I wake up so it's ok

Her: oh ok well I was just calling to say that the party starts at 10:00 so everyone has time to talk and then we can have lunch and swim and everything.

Me:wait there's gonna be a pool and swimming

Her: yeah your not afraid of water are you?

Me: o I just didn't no I actually love to swim

Her: well great I'll see you at ten ok

Me: ok see you soon bye

Her: bye

I hung up, ok so time for and outfit change great. Ok so my red swim trunks with my black skin tight man tank top thing (idk what they are called) then my tan rainbows, ok that seems good. After I had my outfit picked out I went to have breakfast, so I headed down stairs. Now my dad works on the weekends sometimes so he's not here today but I told him where I'm going, so I sat down and began to eat my cereal. Yummy. After that I put my dishes in the dish washer, then ran upstairs. As soon as I got upstairs I picked up my change of clothes and a towel. I went to the bathroom and hopped in the shower, as soon as I was finished I dried up and wrapped the towel around my waist then I began to brush my teeth. I finished that, then dried and styled my hair, and when I was finally done I put on my clothes and its a good thing I picked the trunks with the built in underwear, or that would be another thing for me to carry later.

It was 9:30 when I was done getting ready so I headed out the door grabbing my car keys and phone, I strutted to the car and got in. I turned on the car and I was off it was about a 20 minute drive from my place to melody's and it took ten minutes to find my key so I might be there on time. Well it was about 10:10 when I showed up and sure enough everyone else was on time bunches of cars where parked i front of and behind her house. Melody has a pretty big house so I could guess, I bet so many of these people are her parents friends, I wonder how many of melody's friends are here huh.

I got out of my car and walked to the front door, I pressed the door bell and melody answered. "Hi" I said "hey" she said back and she gave me a smile I smiled in return." Please come in" she said "thanks" I said and walked in. "Wow you look cute" melody said I just looked at her confused this is not melody she, what. "Megan what are you doing" I heard someone yell "your not suppose to be here I thought you were at Chelsea's house" melody said ?! "Well I was but her family went to the beach so I couldn't" said Megan I think!? "WAIT I'm so confused what's going on??!!" I asked "this is my sister Megan" said melody kinda annoyed "oh" I said "hey Mel is this your friend or your boyfriend because if he's single I will take him off your hands" Megan whispered to melody "Megan get out no just leave!!!!" Melody yelled and Megan bolted upstairs.

"I'm so sorry my sister is odd" melody apologized "it's ok it's just that, is she your twin?" I asked "oh yeah" Melody said not to happy "ok" I said "lets just go out back and hang out ok" melody said and pulled me out back to the pool area. "Wow this is amazing" I said there was a big pool with a slide and a diving board god damn "it's not that special is it" melody said "well to me yeah " I said "well do you want to swim?" She asked "uh yeah just let me take off my contacts" I said "oh have you not gotten your glasses yet?" Melody asked "no there still being ordered" I said "oh ok well see you out here in a minute" she said and waved as I headed to the bathroom.

I got there and took off my contacts, then went back out side I wasn't that blind so I was ok but it's not always fun. Melody came over to where I was and said "so are you ready to swim" "yeah" I said. Then melody unzipped her cover up and I took off my shirt. When it was off me I sat my capsule of contacts with my shirt and keys then I threw off my sandals and sat them all on a chair. When I turned to look at melody her face was priceless, her jaw was hanging down and she was staring at something but I don't see how she could see anything I'm taller than her and the only thing she would be able to see is m- me. "Melody are you ok"I asked and she snapped out of it "hu what" she said "well you were just staring at me" I said and I saw her blush, but then it stopped when she looked at my stomach, I had a confused look on my face as she stared at me "what are you-" I started to say but then remembered "oh shit "I said and grabbed my stuff as I ran through her house into a room.

I was so excited to hang out with melody that I forgot about my scar, I can't believe I forgot so I just sank down and leaned up against the wall still shirtless just sitting there. How the hell could I forget? its the thing that ruined my life, how the hell could I forget? Then suddenly melody burst through the door and I looked at her shocked while she looked at me scared an confused. "What was that about" she asked "what?" I said trying to sound as oblivious as possible to the massive scar on my stomach. "Why did you run away when I saw-" I cut her off "saw what there's nothing to see" I said uncomfortably, and she took a seat next to me. We didn't say a thing she just looked at me and then at my stomach which I quickly covered with my legs by clenching them to me. "What's so bad about it?" She asked "it holds bad memories" I said "why didn't you react or get scared when you actually had to take off your shirt?" She asked "well because you made me forget it ever happened" I said and snuggled my head in to my knees. "What did I help you forget about?" She asked I started to feel tears in my eyes and I said to her with the most emotionless hard face I have ever had " you helped me forget about my mothers death" I answered.

She didn't say anything, but suddenly I felt to warm arms around me and I then I looked back up to see her hugging me. "Melody" I said and she looked up "thank you" I said "for what" she said looking confused, "helping me" I said "hmmm?" she said "do you remember when I said you reminded me of her in the car the other day?" I asked her "yes I was confused who her was but now I know" she said "it's true, your sweet and smart,kind and beautiful just like her" I said "thank you" she said, smiling. "do you think you can swim or is to much right now?" She asked "I can't not right now maybe when it's just me and you but not around so many people." I said " I understand" she said, "would it sound weird if I said your the only one I feel comfortable around to talk about or let you see this?" I asked "no of course not, it's sweet" she said and hugged me so this time I hugged her back, this moment was perfect, "ugh why do you get him" nope not perfect anymore. I didn't let her go I wanted to keep hugging her so I did, and just to piss her sister off and make her leave I pulled melody into my lap and hugged her deeper. Luckily enough her sister left and I still didn't let go because the hug was warm, and soft, and sweet like my moms melody's the best friend ever.
