Meeting Idina one-shot
Renee and her best friend, Marie, sat on a crowded bus with Renee's mother. They were in New York City on their way to see their favorite Broadway show, Wicked.
Suddenly, a blonde haired woman in sunglasses and sweatpants climbed onto the bus with her son and sat in the seat in front of the trio.
It took awhile for the blonde, Renee, who acted like Elphaba, to recognize the woman.
"Oh my Oz! Mom, Marie, that is Idina Menzel," She whispered.
The woman in front of them twitched but didn't turn around.
Marie got a closer look. "You're right. That's Walker, her adorable son!"
Renee's mother glance at an old If/Then sign.
"It is! Go talk to her!"
"No, mom, i can't," Renee sighed. "Idina talks about Walker in some of her interviews. She says how Walker doesn't like Frozen because it is work, and work takes Dee away from him. I can't ruin their family time."
"You are going to miss your chance," Renee's mother warned.
In front of them, Idina laughed at something Walker said. Renee glanced at Marie, who nodded her head. "We know, but it is worth it. We're already seeing Wicked. We can go to stage door and meet those stars."
Renee's mother sighed and looked away.
Just then, Idina turned around and looked at them.
"Can i borrow a pen?" She asked. "I digged through my purse and couldn't find one for the life of me."
"Sure," Renee's mom said, handing Idina a pen nudging her daughter. Renee looked out the window.
Five minutes later, Idina turned around and handed them their pen.
The bus pulled to a stop, and the trio stood up to get off the bus.
To their surprise, Idina followed.
"Mommy, why are we going here?" Walker asked.
"Hold on, sweetheart, stay here," Idina answered.
Idina told the bus driver to wait for her and walked off the bus after the three females.
"Excuse me!" She called.
Renee turned around first. "Yes?"
"Can i have a picture with you?" Idina asked.
Renee looked taken aback.
"Uh...sure..."
Renee's mother stepped back as Renee and Marie walked forward.
"You, too, mom," Idina smiled.
The four of them took a picture, then one with the all three individually and another with the two girls.
"I'll post these on my Instagram," Idina told them, then handed them something.
With that, she walked back onto the bus.
Renee looked at what Idina had given her. She passed out the posters accordingly.
The ones Renee and Marie got were posters of Idina and Kristin during For Good. The one Renee's mother got was one of Idina and Walker.
On Renee's mother's poster:
Thank you for being such a great mother to take your daughter and her friend to musicals. Also, for acknowledging a celebrity they like and encouraging them to talk to them. Keep up the parenting.
#justusmoms
Idina Menzel

On Marie's Poster:
Hey! I understand you're a fan! I love my Fanzel community with all my heart, and thanks for being apart of it. And thank you for giving me and my son space even though i bet you wanted to scream and fan girl.
Enjoy Wicked!
Idina Menzel
XOXO

On Renee's poster:
I appreciate what you did for my family. You are a sweet girl. Never stop that. I will always remember you and your friend.
Enjoy the extra gift.
Idina Menzel
XOXO

"What does she mean by extra gift?" Marie asked. But Renee had already opened the envelope attatched to the back. Her eyes were wide and a smile spread across her face.
Marie grabbed the envelope.
"OH MY OZ!" She shouted, ignoring the strange looks. "Three tickets and back stage passes to Idina's tour in New York!"
Renee went onto her phone and opened up Instagram.
Idina Menzel had posted two pictures.
The first one was of Idina, Renee, and Marie.
The caption read: I met two girls on the bus today. Thank you so much. You know what you did! XOXO
The second picture was of Idina and Renee's mom.
The caption read: This is the mother of one of those two other girls. #justusmoms
Renee smiled and showed the picture to the two others. She then commented on the first picture: Thanks for the tickets!-Renee
"Girls, we have to go before we are late!" Renee's mother exclaimed.
Then, they went to Wicked.

Months later:
"This song goes out to two special girls i hope are in the audience," Idina Menzel said. "I've heard it said..."
After the concert, the three females ran to the backstage area. They showed the guard their backstage passes and ran to Idina's dressing room.
"Come in!" Idina called when they knocked. Idina was already dressed in sweats and she was scrubbing her make up off.
She smiled at the three as they walked in.
"I don't think we've properly met. I'm Idina Menzel," She greeted.
"I'm Renee," Renee whispered.
"Marie," Marie blurted.
"I'm Joanna, Renee's mom," Joanna said.
Walker padded into the room and looked at the three strangers.
"Mommy, are these the people you told me about?" He asked with a yawn.
"Yes," Idina answered.
"Thank you," Walker responded, looking at the trio.
"You are very welcome," Marie cooed.
"Did you enjoy the show?" Idina wondered.
"Is that even a question?" Renee laughed.
The five of them talked for twenty minutes.
"Hey, it's getting late, do you want to go to stage door with me?"
Marie squealed and Renee froze in place.
"I'm taking that as a yes."
Idina picked Walker up, grabbed a sharpie and her bag, and led the other three to the stage door.
They opened the door to sscreaming fans.
"Hey guys!" Idina shouted. More screaming.
"I'd like you to meet my new-old friends, Renee, Marie, and Joanna. You already know Walker."
Pictures flashed and CDs and progrmas waved.
As Idina signed things thrown at her, a girl of about ten tapped on Renee's shoulder.
"Can you sign this?" She squeaked.
"Sweetheart, i'm not a celebrity."
"You are to me. I heard what you did for Idina. I think you are pretty cool," The girl answered.
Renee thought back to the interview Idina did where she told about the two special girls she met on the bus. "What's your name?"
"Cecelia Davis. I'm ten," Cecelia said.
"Three years younger than me," Renee informed as she signed the Wicked CD in Cecelia's shaking hands. "Nervous?"
"Yeah," Cecelia breathed.
"Don't be. I'm not that cool," Renee responded.
"Yes, you are."
Renee laughed and handed the Sharpie to Marie.
"Renee Wolf and Marie Taylor," Cecelia read.
"That's my mom, Joanna Wolf," Renee said, pulling her mom closer. Cecelia thrusted the CD to Joanna, who laughed and signed.
And that was how it went. Some people asked for the girls' signatures, some didn't.
After that, Idina, Walker and them went seperate ways.

Ten years later
Renee POV
"Ready?" I asked Marie.
"I guess."
We climbed out of the car and into the building.
A man greeted us. "Hello girls, i am Stephen Schwartz. Welcome to Wicked."
"It's great to be here!" Marie chirped.
"I was thinking the same thing. It was a little less perky, but still the same thing," I said.
Stephen laughed. "I think you two will make a great Elphaba and Glinda."
He left to talk to other iconic Wicked members like Joe Mantello and Winnie Holzman.
We set our stuff down and grabbed our water bottles. I turned around when i felt a tap on my shoulder.
"Hi!" A twenty year old woman greeted shyly. "I don't know if you remember me. This is my first day, too. I'll be playing Nessarose in the Wicked movie. My name is Cecelia Davis."
"Oh my Oz! I remember you!" I whispered.
Suddenly, Stephen clapped his hands.
"May i have your attention. You are all new to this, i know. This Wicked movie has been awaited for a long time! Here to help you, we have some special guests. Can i have the leads up here please?"
Marie, Cecelia and I walked to the front along with some others.
"Come on out."
I gasped as i saw Kristin Chenoweth walk up to Marie.
She looked star struck, and i laughed. Wait, does that mean?
"Hey, stranger."
I turned around.
"Hey, Adele Dazeem, is it?"

Just to specify: What Rene and Marie did for Idina was that they let Idina have quality time with her son instead of pestering them with autographs and pictures.
Also, Cecelia was the girl at stage door.
