Interrogation room: 

"Can I ask you, what were you doing  on 13 October night at around 9 pm? Do you mind elaborating?" 

The police asked a petite girl, who was trembling. "I...I was doing my homework, then my mum told me to go get groceries from the nearby supermarket. I went, then came back. I don't think I heard any commotion, though I did hear a police siren and an ambulance. I think that was when the murder already occurred."

"Do you have any witnesses that can confirm your alibi?" The policeman asked her.

"I already said, my mum told me to get those groceries, I only found out about it after I returned. It was the next day that my mum decided it was too dangerous for me to go out alone, and insists on accompanying me everyday."

"Thank you for your hopefully honest response. We will look into this matter. Next!"

"Who do you think is the killer? Do you think it is possible that the killer is in our school?" 

Rumours about the murder spread like wildfire across the school, then across the county. Soon enough the whole little town in Sicily knew all about that murder. It was stated that the killer held a long sword and directly impaled the poor counter lady, stabbed her 16 times, then when the police arrived, killed off 6 policemen, then fled off from the roof of the shop. 

Of course the truth was way less far fetched that that.

Auditorium

"We have finished our first round of investigations today, and we will look into the alibis that were provided for each person. Please do note that the killer will be found out within these weeks, if not months, and we urge anyone who has information about the case to step forward as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation and we apologise for any inconvenience caused." 

"Do you think they'll find out who the murderer is? She seems virtually invisible in the police' investigations and any lead will always end up in dead ends." Julias reasoned, and Andrea replied, "Oh, seriously, Julias, any fool could see that that murder is a small one. Soon it will be declared unsolved and everyone will forget the matter. We will just see that the police are having a bit of fun trying to find out who the culprit is!" 

"But really, who do you think the murderer is? She could have passed us in these halls and we never noticed." Luca said.

"Well, the reports did mention that the killer had long hazel hair. We might need to watch where we step. If the killer wants to kill us, we would be dead the next morning." Patrine cautioned.

The Next Day

"Can I ask you, what were you doing on 13 October night at around 9 pm? Do you mind elaborating?" 

The question was ringing throughout the investigation room.

"Well, technically speaking I was having a sleepover with 7 friends, and we were messing around and causing chaos throughout the house, because my parents were away on a 2 months long business trip." Sofia mumbled.

The policeman eyed her intently. Very well then. Thank you for your insightful input. We will look into your given alibi. May I know the names of your 7 friends?"

"Julias, Antonio, Marco, Aemilia, Patrine, Luca, Andrea."

"I see. We will check in with them as well."
