(henry's pov) ♡

'The day was, exactly a week after the band competition. Lemme tell you, I've never seen Drew so down before. . Makes sence since he lost his best friend and his girlfriend.. Well maybe him losing his girlfriend was for the better. '

'Ever since that fight Drew has been avoiding me and Liam as well. I've seen him on the rooftop a lot recently which was Jake's favorite place to go. I hate to think that Jake just left us like that but.. he's probably better off with the club. We were jerks. I really wish I could've gone to the competition but Jake wouldn't have been happy to see me. I never actually got to hear that so called: "angelic voice" of his. Man.. me and Liam were really looking forward to that.'

'I should stop over thinking and get to school before I'm late.' I rushed out the door with my dry bagel in my hand and got into my mom's car. "Henry! This is gonna be the 3rd time your late this week!" my mom shouted as she started the car. "Hey! Haha.. At least it's the end of the week..!!" I said awkwardly. The rest of the drive to school was pretty quiet unless we talk about the Taylor Swift music my mom was blasting on the radio! Taylor Swift reminded me of Jake.. He always talked about her since Hailey was a huge swiftie I guess. When we arrived at school, surprisingly I wasn't that late, I had a few minutes to spare until my first class with Liam and Drew. I rushed out the car and went to my locker to meet up with Liam.

"Henry!" I heard Liam shout. I ran to him, as I do every morning and gave him a little hug but.. that hug felt different..? in a good way..! ehh I'm over thinking again. I walked to history class with Liam and sat down at a table with him. Right next to me was an empty seat. Where Drew normally sits... "Drew's skipping class again.. " I whispered to Liam "oh my god.. It's getting worse! First Jake, now Drew!" Liam announced. "Hey he'll probably move on from this whole situation soon.. I hope.. And it's not like I'm going to leave you! Your my best friend!" I stated. It was a bit silent after that until class was over. "I'll talk to you at lunch about this.." Liam said before walking in the other direction to head to his next class. I didn't get the chance to say anything back but it didn't matter. I headed over to my math class where I sat next to Jake.

He of course didn't even acknowledge me. I tried making hand gestures at him because I wanted his attention but nothing.. He didn't say anything to me until class ended and he snapped "if your trying to win me back, spoiler alert it's not going to work! Our friendship is dead and thats FINAL." he stormed off. I mean I really didn't expect any other reaction from him. He's in the right here.

Once lunch rolled around I met up with Liam under one of the trees outside. When he walked up to me I noticed something different about his appearance, his hair was combed down a bit, which isn't a huge difference but I was able to notice right away. "Did you do something to your hair?" I asked while tilting my head. "Uhmm.. Well I messed with it when I was in the bathroom, does it look okay?" He responded. I stood up and touched his hair "It looks cute!" oh god. I just said that. Hopefully he doesn't take it in the wrong way! I blushed a bit but tried to cover up my face. "Haha thanks!" He responded. We both sat down, I tried to keep my distance from him although I really wanted to be close up to him.

I've always wanted to be closer with Liam, like as some say 'more than friends' but I could never do that.. It would probably ruin our already really great friendship, I know it would. I've felt like this since middle school. He would never like me back though. He's probably straight anyways.. Yeah.. straight.. I know we have filmed some tiktoks of us pretending to kiss and stuff but those weren't real. I wish they were. I wanna kiss him like right now actually. He's so pretty and such a good person to me. Sucks that we would never be a couple. I have to try and move on.

The rest of our lunch went normally, it was just us talking and I mentioned what happened with me and Jake at second period. Oh! and Liam invited me over to his house for a sleepover tomorrow. Wait what! A sleepover! Hopefully it goes good. And I don't think about him in a romantic way the whole fucking time.

We both went out seperate ways when lunch was over. We didn't see each other till school was over where we managed to talk to Drew. We talked for about 3 minutes and here's how that conversation went.
Drew:"hey guys.."
Me:"Drew! you've been skipping class recently.. is everything okay..?"
Drew:he laughed "what do you think.. I'm at the lowest point of my life right now, okay?."
Liam:"hey we are here for you, dude.. Feel free to talk to us.. I know that Jake leaving us sucks.."
Drew:"did he have to leave us for those FREA- I mean.. the club.. he said he was only doing this for d-daisy.. he's a liar."
there was a long pause until Drew started to tear up.
Me:"Drew.."
Drew:"Whatever. I'm going home. Bye guys."

That's how that went.. It wasn't a good conversation.. I don't think it's going to get any fucking better now that I think about it.. Fuck. I left the school with Liam soon after talking with Drew. I waited for the bus although I wasn't going on it, I just waited so Liam didn't have to wait alone. Once the bus came I hugged Liam, but not your ordinary hug it was like a very tight hug. Yeah.. It's probably so obvious I like him and it probably makes him uncomfortable.. Once that hug ended he walked towards the bus before saying "See you tomorrow, Henry!" then he got on the bus. I waved to him through the window until the bus finally drove off. Wow. He didn't seem mad at me for that gay ass hug..? Ehhh.. He was probably uncomfortable, I know it! Hopefully that sleepover will go well tomorrow and I won't make him uncomfortable.. Like I always do..
