Orphan!

The grieving that took place around her flower shrouded casket was cathartic. As the strains from the hymn faded,I gently placed a single white lilly on that mount of soil and whispered," Rest In Peace mom!"  The flash- disc lying in my hand was a nightmare.

On that day,she gave me a peck on my cheeks and said she was going to interview a politician. I loved her but what bored me stiffest were the critics who vilified that she was poking her nose where it did not belong. She cherished her job and nothing could stop her ; not even me,her son. She graced on the keys and picked the Mercedes Benz S - class keys and left. " Whatever!" I said as I munched my breakfast.

She arrived at Huncho's highway in Cold Apples and suddenly saw the mayor's convoy. She made sure her camera was steady. She followed it secretly. With melodic yet poetic cadence's,when she graced her microphone to speak, she never disappointed. Full of vigour, she sped to catch up with the convoy but something perplexed her. The convoy stopped and the mayor got into an old BMW as the convoy proceeded to an unknown destination. A corner; full of garbage and undescribable disposed wastes. Her heart beat. Upon arrival, the BMW stopped and all she could hear were cries from toddlers. She placed her camera in a vantage position and let her eyes walk around. She saw the mayor laughing sardonically as children were being auctioned. A number of business men- those who shook the country's economy - were present. She was shocked. She coiled her long black hair into an uncompromising bun at the nape of her neck and licked her dry lips. She was ready to expose the illegal business to the world.
" An intruder!" she was spotted and gunshots took control. She was shot on the thigh.  Trying to save her life, she limped as blood jetted from her and got into the automobile amid bullets sent to finish her.She managed to escape but lost a lot of blood. She went home and rested her soft palms on her injured thigh.

I was from my routine jogging when I came back home. The room was cold and dim. I tried turning on the lights but darkness was in control.
" Mom probably forgot to settle the bills" I thought. I ran upstairs only to see this harrowing sight that dissected my heart into a million pieces. I screamed. She handed me this disc that gave me sleepless nights and whispered," Take it to Elly." She then closed her eyes and bid the world goodbye. Due to my curiosity,I viewed the video and decided to do as instructed but only after she had rested.

Now the killers were present on the funeral, suppressing inquisitive smiles that hissed , " Give us the evidence or you be next!" Just like a topsy turvy set of puzzle,I was confused. I had irrefutable evidence with me but wondered whether I should give it to them and stay alive. Sweating,I prayed for divine intervention and let fate decide. I then heard gunshots. It was all over and as I began closing my eyes, I saw the video playing and heard murmurs.Elly had found it! I then became unconscious; I fainted.
