Dan & I have been at my grandparent's house all day, and they offered us the guest room for the night. I honestly don't wanna stay. Don't get me wrong I love my grandparents, but I just can't deal with Grammy & all this damn Spanish.

"Grand-poppy no!" I sighed as he was talking to Kayden in Spanish. "Don't teach her that..."

"Just because you hate your Dominican heritage, that doesn't mean Kayden will." He told me.

I sighed.

"I never said that....I just don't like speaking Spanish.."

"C'mon Jay.." Dig nudged me. "Lighten up. It won't hurt her to learn bout her culture.."

I heavily sighed & sat back on the sofa, folding my arms across my chest.

"My dawg!" Grand-poppy chuckled, giving Dig dap.

I rolled my eyes.

"Cena está lista!" {Dinner is ready!} Grammy yelled from the kitchen.

I got up.

"Come on, dinner's ready.." I told Diggy as I pulled his hand.

He got up, holding me from behind as we walked into the dining room.

"Maybe you should teach me how to speak and understand Spanish..." He whispered in my ear.

I looked at him like he was crazy.

"Sobre mi cadaver.." {Over my dead body..}

He chuckled.

"I'll take that as a no.."

Then I thought for a second.

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to teach him Spanish, I just don't like speaking it. I guess I can do this one little thing for my baby...since he wants to learn so bad..

"Ahora, yo no diría que no..." {Now, I wouldn't say no...} I shrugged.

Grand-poppy looked over at me with his eyebrow raised.

"Jayl--"

"Si Daniel quiere aprender español, él va a aprender de la manera difícil.." {If Daniel wants to learn Spanish, he'll learn the hard way..}

He shook his head.

"¿No es eso la manera que usted y la abuela me enseñaste?" {Isn't that how you and grandma taught me?} I rose my eyebrow. "A los dos años de edad!" {At two years old!}

"Continuar..." {Proceed...} He chuckled, waving me on.

I smiled & looked over at Diggy.

His eyebrows were raised.

"What's goin on?" He asked.

"No lo sé?" {I don't know?} I shrugged. "Tu dime.." {You tell me..}

He chuckled.

"I see whatchu doin..." He pointed at me.

"Qué?" {What?} I evil smirked.

He laughed, rubbing his hand together.

"Bring it on Jay, gimme yo worst.."

Grammy walked in, putting the last dish of dinner on the table.

"You ain't seen my wrong yet.." I mumbled.

"Cavar en!" {Dig in!} Grammy squealed, walking over & taking Kayden from Grand-poppy.

Lesson One Begins.

I started Diggy's lesson as soon as possible, I just wanna get it over with & I can tell that it may take awhile. Diggy is a fast learner, so it might not take as long.

"Tenedor." I said, holding up at fork.

"Tenedor...?"

"Bueno bueno." {Good good.} I smiled & picked up the spoon. "Cuchara."

"Cuchara.."

"Magnífico!" {Magnificent!} I squealed.

He chuckled.

"Ahora, dilo de espalda." {Now, say it back.} I patted under his chin.

"Cuchara e tenedor."

This isn't gonna be as hard as I thought. As the night went on, the lesson became a little more difficult. It's the thrill of the challenge, it can't hurt to try.

"No!!" I snapped at him. "Absolutamente equivocado!" {Absolutely wrong!}

He sighed.

"C'mon babe, I'm tired."

"Hacer usted querer la hielo cangilón?" {Do you want the ice bucket?} I snapped.

"What?"

"Cangilón!?" {Bucket!?} I pointed down at the ice bucket beside my feet.

"No!!" He spat. "Hell no!"

"Luego hacer las cosas bien!!" {Then get it right!!} I snapped my fingers when I said right.

He yawned & sighed.

"Iight, c'mon.."

There was a knock at the door.

"Venir en en." {Come on in.}

Grammy walked in with Kayden sleeping in her arms.

"Jaylin, él es haciendo muy bien. No seas tan duro con él." {Jaylin, he's doing very well. Don't be so hard on him.} She told me.

She gave Kayden to Diggy & left.

I sighed & looked at Diggy.

"Usted puede ir a la cama ahora.." {You can go to bed now..} I gestured at the bed.

He laid back.

"Me estoy poniendo allí, Jaylin.." {I'm getting there, Jaylin..}

I smiled & rolled me eyes playfully.

He pulled me onto the bed & I laid my head on his chest.

Maybe I should easy up a little. Even though I know that he won't give up, I don't have to work him that hard.
