Arguments

"What do you mean you're leaving for a whole month?"

"Lorenzo, they said they saw him. I need to know!"

I looked down from the top of the stairs. My mother was crying.

"Come on! You really think this is the way to settle this?" I saw Lorenzo face tense up, "For all we know it could be someone else!"

My mother's face looked as if she'd seen a ghost.

"I need to know for sure..I need you to take care of Charlotte while I'm gone. Is that going to be trouble for you?"

Lorenzo embraced my mother with a tight hug. I heard the same line over and over, "they said they saw him."

"Him"

My father.

I shake the thought off my head and return to the conversation.

"Ok. Ok." I heard Lorenzo say. "I'll do it."

I laid wide awake thinking about my father.

Can it really be him?

All these thoughts filled my mind until I finally dozed off.

"Beep. Beep. Beep."

That was new. I reached over and shut off the alarm. It was 6:30. I got off of bed and made my way downstairs.

"Your mother left you know." I heard Lorenzo say.

I smelled the scent of ciguars fill the room. I made my way to the kitchen.

"She said she might have found your father...In the meantime im gonna be having fun with you."

I closed my eyes in fustration and gave a loud sigh.
