Janet
I was laughing around with mother for some time before I decided to head to the grocery store I was going to cook believe it or not.
I was definitely determined because I had been eating junk for a week straight. I mean I guess I could call it my cheat week because I've been on a diet for years.
Okay years is a bit dramatic, maybe months. It feels like years though. Getting out of the car I waited on the car to let me across the street.
"Ou, it's cold." I mumbled to myself walking through the aisles.
I grabbed some shrimp and garlic bread. I was not about to be doing everything from scratch today because I was tired. I went up to the other aisle and tried to decide on what pasta to get. I think I was in the mood for shells. Grabbing them and shredded cheese I decided that would be it.
I was definitely going to make my sauce from scratch. The premade one is nasty. Once I checked that I had everything I made my way to the check out line and stood there.
The line wasn't that long so I didn't have to stand too long.
"Hi, how are you." I said and when I looked up it was Isis. She squinted at me.
I could see that she forced the small smile she gave me. "I'm fine and you?"
"I'm good Isis." She rolled her eyes and ringed me up.
"$13.43" I nodded and gave her the money.
Once she gave me my bag I said thank you. "Did you get started on your paper?" I asked and she shook her head.
"N-No." She said timidly.
"Why not Isis? Are you struggling?" She nodded.
"Just a little bit but I'll figure it out, I can read some stuff and try to-."
When she said that alarms rang off in my head. "What time are you going to be done here?" Looking at her watch she shrugged.
"I have about ten minutes left of my shift, why?"
"If you can, come over so I could help you with your paper."
Isis rubbed her arm and nodded. "I'll let my mother know, I have to go home first though so sure." I nodded and grabbed the bags up.
"I'll see you then."
