Chapter 2: the first day.

About 2 months earlier 

Peridot/pov

I start college in about a week which of course means I need to get to my dorm room.  I don't really want to have a dorm, but my mom is practically kicking me out. She didn't actually kick me out but she keeps bringing up how excited she will be.

My mom was helping my pack up my things for college. It was about a 4 hour drive to campus, but I had my music so I should be fine. "Are you sure you have everything peridot?" My mother asked "yes mom now can we please just go" "alright, alright calm down" ugh I honestly can't wait to get away from her I mean sure I love her but she's pretty annoying.

I left my playlist on shuffle and waited till I finally got to the campus. I sat in the car just looking out the window just thinking about stuff, like who's going to be my roommate. I already know it's a girl, maybe I can make a friend ugh never mind I don't do that stuff, I just hope she's nice because I don't think I can deal with being bullied inside and outside my own room.

Time skip 4 hours

I felt the car stop moving and realized I had fallen asleep. " we're here!" I was startled by this scream from the front seat "ugh mom I know I'm awake" I said in a groggy voice. "Oh, well let's start bringing your stuff to your room" I slowly hunched over the the trunk of the car opening it and grabbing as many bags as I could hold. 'Which wasn't much because I'm not a strong person'.  I turned around to look at my mom "Holly crap mom! You're going to drop my bags we can just take two trips you don't need to take all of them." I growled at mother "jeez Peripie I've got them" ugh 'Peripie' seriously "MOM! I told you not to call me 'Peripie'." I hate that name 

I dropped my bags at my dorm while I attempted to unlock the door. "Jeez I can't even unlock a door right" I mumbled to myself "sweetheart do you want mommy to do it for you?" Did she really just say that "no mom I got it" that was a lie but I'm not letting my 'mommy' do everything for me.

When I finally got into the dorm room I was greeted by a small corner kitchen in well the corner. When you walk further there was two bed on each side of the room, I took the left side.  There was a small dresser underneath a window in between the two bed. On the right wall was a small closet, and the left wall had the bathroom.

My roommate wasn't here yet which was a relief I didn't need my mom embarrassing me anymore than she already has. "Ok! Thanks mom you can go now, BYE!" I practically yelled at my mom " whoa peridot what's the rush let me help you unpack." Ughhhhhhhhh "no mom I've got it under control" I told her in an annoyed tone "o-oh alright if you say so. I love you honey goodbye" "yeah yeah I love you too" jeez my mom is really annoying.

Once my mom 'finally' left I started unpacking. I had almost unpacked everything when I heard the door begin to unlocked. First I was frightened 'oh jeez is someone trying to break in'. When the door did open a beautiful girl came in, wow that blue hair, and those blue eyes I could look at her forever. 'OH SHOOT I was staring at her' "umm... hi." the mysterious girl said "oh uh hello" I smiled at her. She smiled back, oh gosh even her smile was beautiful. Wait, WHAT! STOP BEING GAY PERIDOT YOUR HERE TO LEARN NOT TO FALL IN LOVE! 

I felt like I know this girl, but I can't quite put my finger on it. OH she went to my high school! Her name was lapis, now I know why I thought she was so pretty. lapis has been my crush since forever.  I mean I'm so out of her league she's a popular bitch with a jerky girlfriend, and I'm an unpopular nerd with no friends. That didn't stop me, but now I get to look at her beautiful face everyday form the next 4 years that sounds pretty nice to me.

I finished unpacking my stuff and I sat on my bed watching lapis. I didn't even ask for her name, and she didn't ask for mine. Maybe she remembers me! No definitely not I've never talked to her before. I guess my roommate won't know my name, great.  

One week later when classes start

I could finally get out of my room today, classes were starting so I would no longer be in the awkward situation with my roommate. I haven't said one word to her since the greeting. Sometimes I hear her sniffing at night as if she was crying, but I don't know.

My first class was computer science, it felt completely unnecessary to take because I know everything about computers, but oh well. I only had one class with my roommate and that was art, I'm not sure what she's majoring, but she's is REALLY good at art. The class went by pretty quickly, but this one girl kept looking at me. Weird. 

AN/ here's chapter two I going to do lapis pov of her first daynext chapter, but then back to present day when lapis and peridot fell asleep in each other's arms it's kinda confusing but o well also I might update once a day or not idk don't keep you hopes up
