[AUTHOR'S NOTE]
Why hello there. A pretty long author's note ahead. I'm really sorry for the super long wait, life at my school doesn't exactly give you much free time. Okay anyway I hope you enjoy this chapter, although this one is also pretty much a filler, except it tells you what happened to her real parents after she was saved by the Fallons. But it also mainly features a certain someone. The next chapter would finally start on the main plot, so yay! I have to admit though, this chapter has a lot of mistakes; chunky paragraphs, awkward phrasings, punctuation problems (unf too many dashes) and swearing. Please bear with me though, I am currently editing all parts of the story. If anyone minds the excessive use of swearing, let me know! I don't mind cutting it down, it's just that Desslyn's cusses a lot. Even in her thoughts, and she's pretty weird too. Hahaa anyway I would like to thank those who voted for the previous chapter. I mean, I'm pretty invisible in wattpad so six votes mean a hell lot for me. I also want to dedicate this chapter to my sunday-wattpad-church-buddy-person Jamie for reminding me to update hahahahahha. Love you for pestering me. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Chapter Two
Thunder
-
After I was rescued by the Fallons, everything changed.
I finally actually felt free.
Now, my parents. What the hell actually happened to them, hmm? The Fallons were kind enough to report my parents to the authorities, and when they asked for proof, I was there. They searched my old house and all that detective shit, and to sum it all up, both my parents were taken away. The social care people then gave Adele & Randy permit to be my official guardians.
My parents were sent to this rehab centre, and as much as I hated them, every once in a while I'd go visit them. Although they did abuse me like I was a complete piece of disgrace everyday, they were still my birth parents. I'd visit them once every two months, and today was one of those days.
I fixed the messy bun that was piled at the back of my head and glanced at what was in the mirror. My mind then recalled to the day that I ran away, where I was staring at myself in the mirror of my bathroom. What I saw? A girl with dull brown hair and pale skin with scars all embedded on her wrists and body, all covered up by long-sleeved clothing. I closed my eyes at the memory and opened them again, now focusing on how I looked like right now. A pair of mid-length leggings hung onto my legs, followed by an oversized shirt that dangled over my legs. My face was free of make-up, and I looked like I didn't even have a hangover at all.
Oh but I did.
I glanced at Summer who was snoring on the floor, her body curled up in to a ball. I rolled my eyes. It's completely surprising how my best friend/sister sleeps just as much as Layton. I swear, sometimes they could be quite scarily annoying with how alike they can be.
Yesterday was amazing. Like Wind said, the parties his friend, Jake threw were beast. Summer got really high yesterday, and she definitely did the deed with Wayne. But damn, Ashton was a fucking wreck. I pretty much felt for the guy when I saw him watch both Wayne & Summer disappear up Jake's house. I swear man, that shit has to hurt. Seeing the pain in his eyes, man, it forced me to get my ass off the couch near the food table to console him. I remember though, it went a little like this.
