"I'd never imagined, that the last image of my mother I'd have , was as she cried for me while I boarded. It was an image that I'd soon wish to erase from my brain. So so badly."
Cassie Oliver had always been a happy loving child growing up. She was a happy, bubbly girl that pushed others to do more than they were able to do. She had no issue making friends with animals too for that matter.
She would never turn her heart away from an animal in need of her help. Her house has held a minagery of four legged companions.
Two legged companions , on the other hand were something she had few of. As bubbly as she'd been, she lacked the social cue to connect . So when she became good friends with a man named Alfredo Hungar, her mother was more than pleased for her to make a human friend.
Oh how they would come to regret these choices ...
Cassie and her mother sat patiently as they awaited the text from Alfredo to explain about the trip that Cassie would have.
Ping
Came the notification from her daughter's phone.
'Dear, moncheri. I cannot wait to see you and show you the beautiful city of Paris , my home land. It will be an unforgettable holiday!'
Cassie felt herself squeal in delight over this. She'd never been to Paris. She'd always wanted to. Her mother Helen on the other hand, did have her apprehensions. But , after being shown the hotel and the location and the fact that Alfredo's sister will also be there. She loosened up.
'Mrs Oliver. I assure you, my sister will take great care of your daughter whilst we are in Paris. I give you my word.'
Came his eager response. Words that set both hearts at ease.
Cassie and Alfredo had been talking for well over 2 years, bordering on 3 now. It was Alfredo who offered the chance of a holiday meet up, even offered to a friend of hers should they want it.
But with Cassie being a very introverted person, she had little genuine friends by her side that she'd consider for the journey.
Her older sister Harley, lived far away from them and therefore, was unavailable to ask this request. Helen did offer herself to accompany her daughter, but Cassie did not want her mother there . How embarrassing would that be to have your mother escorting her 18 years old daughter. So Cassie politely declined that offer.
"I'm 18 mum, I will be perfectly fine. I promise you. I will call and I'll message you at least twice a day. I'll have such beautiful photos of Paris to brag about. Also, it may even help my social issues too."
Cassie beamed up at her mother, who just sighed in defeat. There was no arguing with those determined eyes.
They both separated for the night and went to their rooms.
Cassie felt a nudge on her leg, it was one of her cats, Ginga. She meowed loudly as if to ask for ups. The girl bent down and picked the cat up, that was when she heard a 'ping' from her phone. It was Alfredo.
"I hope I made a good impression with your mother moncheri. I cannot wait to see you in the flesh. Your long blond hair, your beautiful hazel eyes..I'll take them all in."
