As an orange and yellow portal opened up in an alleyway, Gwen Stacey slowly stepped through. She looked around at the dark scenery, everything being run down but not quite abandoned. The portal closes behind her, leaving her in the dark. Her heart beat picked up just a little but she took a breath and tapped a button on her Web-Watch(or Gizmo according to Lyla) and a little glowing hologram of Jessica Drew appeared.

"Okay, I've reached Earth-9621. Where is The Spot currently trying to go?" Gwen asked, her calm voice being the complete opposite of how she really felt at the moment.

"He's heading to Alchamex of that universe right now, you need to stop him before he gets there Gwen," the hologram of Jessica explained, glitching here and there. "But there's one more thing you need to kn-" before she could finish, the connection was cut.

"Wait wait wait what do I need to know?" Gwen quickly tried to get back in touch with Jessica Drew but it was no use, according to Miguel Earth-9621 always threw off the signal of the Web-Watches.

Gwen sighed heavily, giving up; instead she decided to start her mission. She carefully crept out of the alleyway, the dim, flickering street lamps were the only things illuminating the oddly empty city. Everyone seemed to have gone inside for the night.

She managed to catch a glimpse of a clock that was still on inside a gas station.

"7:30? Why is it so empty? It's only 7:30" Gwen muttered to herself. Her heart began to beat a little quicker at the silence of the city, there was no cars, the street lamps were a lot dimmer than most universes she's been to, barely illuminating the streets. There was not a single sign of life from what she could see, all businesses were dark, all windows in apartments were dark, there wasn't even any cars on the streets.

The eerie silence made her skin crawl as she thought about Jessica Drew's attempt to warn her about something. So many questions flooded through Gwen's head, what was she trying to warn her about? Why is this place a ghost town once night falls? What is interfering with the communication lines? Was she alone? All of these questions made her feel more and more uneasy but one thing was for certain. She had to find where The Spot had ended up.

She began to make her way through the silent city, all billboards were dark as well, a feeling of being watched also crept onto her the longer she stayed. She peered into another shop window and saw another clock that now read 7:50pm. It had been 20 minutes and there has been no sign of life, no sign of The Spot, or anyone for that matter.

"Huh...is he gone?" She spoke out loud to herself, pressing a few buttons on her Web-Watch to track him. To her surprise and luck she managed see his location! He was still in this universe but where was he? She watched the little dot on the holographic screen dart around different locations, like he was...running?

"What could you be running from?..." Gwen muttered under her breath, a frown of concentration fading onto her face.

After pressing a few more buttons, her expression changed to a look of surprise when a little hologram Jessica Drew popped up from the watch.

"Gwen! Can you hear me?" Jessica called out, the hologram glitched badly but Gwen was able to make out what she said.

"Yes, yes I can hear," she was cut off by Jessica's glitchy voice.

"Gwen listen to me, there is a Spider-Man in that universe but he's not like us. He's not a hero, he's not-" and then she was gone before she could finish her warning. Gwen's heart began to race.

"No no no please wait- come on work-" she tried to get ahold of Jessica Drew once more but it was no use, communications have cut out again. Gwen groaned in a mix of annoyance and fear before letting her arm fall to her side.

Before more questions could flood her mind, she took a breath and continued her search for The Spot with a little more care in her step, not wanting to alert whatever Jessica Drew was trying to warn her about.

More time passed before she finally heard a sign that she wasn't alone! Gwen hear The Spot's voice! But who was he talking to? She looked around and followed his voice around a corner of a building. She cautiously peeked around the corner, using the shadows to her advantage to stay hidden; Gwen quietly watched The Spot talk to a figure in the dark.

"Let's talk about this- wait- why don't we introduce ourselves? I'm The Spot, and you are?-" he stammered out, fear lacing his voice. The only response he got from the tall, lanky figure was an animalistic growl. They did not move from their shadows, but their yellow eyes glowed softly as they focused on The Spot.

Gwen peered at the figure but couldn't make out any details. All she could see was the glow of their yellow eyes, and their lanky frame crouched in the dark. Gwen began to wonder who this figure was but her thoughts were interrupted by The Spot continuing to talk.

"Can you please point me in the direction of Alchamex? I used to work there myself but things happened and I got...laid off. I just need you to show me where that is? Okay?" The Spot asked politely, trying to keep the fear out of his voice but it was still evident.

The figure growled again at his voice, clearly not happy of his presence. Before The Spot could speak again, it lunged right at him.
