"Something's up."
Donnie looked away from the wires of Jerome's currently-opened hand communicator, to a frowned Dizzy standing in the doorway of the workshop.
The yellow and blue crafts looked at each other confused, a screwdriver hovering in the hand of the latter. The duos gaze then turned towards the pink copter, as she sighed.
"With Jett, I mean." Dizzy walked inside of the workshop as she mindlessly picked up a wrench. "Something's up with him."
"...Go on." Donnie said.
"I eavesdropped Sky talking to Jimbo."
"You?" Jerome raised a brow.
"Yeah, me. Don't tell Paul. Anyway," She continued, "She said he missed the delivery today, again. The delivery spot, to be exact."
"Wait- Again?"
"Yeah, again. Which means it happened more than once." Dizzy said, putting the wrench down. "I tried to ask him about it, but he said he 'went too fast he accidentally missed the spot'. Several times?"
Silence.
"Well...Personally I can't say he is fast these days." Jerome said. "I invited him to a race yesterday...and he lost. With that speed. He said he 'appearently zoned out'."
Donnie closed the casing on Jerome's hand. "He zoned out during one of his checkups yesterday too. Just stared ahead, didn't say anything. I called his name several times, snapped my fingers, but he was unresponsive."
Dizzy went deep into thought as Jerome shook his hand a bit.
After a few seconds of silence, the copter looked at Donnie. "Don. Didn't you treat him after the whole thing? Haven't you noticed something?"
The mechanic in-question blinked for a minute, then his face lit up. He went to a cabinet, pulled out a dossier from the bottom drawer and tossed it to the copter.
"These are plans consisting of the mechanics of his body. I keep each for us for incase, y'know. Some bad stuff happens." Donnie said as Dizzy and Jerome looked at the red circles drawn around the figure of their friend.
"The circles represent his physical injuries." Donnie added. "Some are dents on his head, or arms. A broken light on one of his wings. And cracks in his legs."
"Suspicous amount of cracks." Jerome mumbled at the sight of several circles drawn on the legs.
"Do you think...his legs got...almost ripped off?" Dizzy questioned, slowly turning her gaze from the plans to the yellow craft.
"I wish I could say no, but...that's the case." Donnie sighed. "When I was repairing him the joints in his legs were heavily damaged, much more than every other area. They almost fell off from their places. I tried my best to put them back together. But...some of the cracks still stayed."
Dizzy and Jerome looked at each other worryingly, then Donnie, who had a guilty expression on his face. It was true, the mechanic did lock himself in his workshop for 4 days straight with Jett.
"You tried your best, Donnie." Jerome reassured his friend.
"Yeah. And thank you for that." Dizzy added.
Donnie nodded, with a small smile, which faded immediately. "Although I still don't know why he acts like that."
"I have some pinpoints, but I can't put my finger on it..." Dizzy sighed. "Go on, Donnie."
"Okay," Donnie said as he picked up a device from the drawer at the corner. "I have a scanner which can detect injuries and how old they are, thanks to Astra."
He opened a screen which had pictures of the injuries. The other 2 crafts in the room looked at the pictures as the mechanic explained.
"Most of them have the same times as ours. They all happened back at New York. But the ones on the legs are older than them."
Dizzy and Jerome frowned in unison.
The factory.
"Donnie?"
"Hm?"
"Only your communicator work right now, right?"
"Yeah?"
"Can you call Astra? We're gonna need her help."
..
The spacecraft arrived more quickly than excepted.
"Sorry, I was late." Astra grumbled, pointing to the sky. "Was busy repairing the damage up there. So, what's the catch?"
"Is the satellite working?"
"I mean...There are some errors here and there but I think it's in mediocre condition at best."
"Good. We're gonna need it." Dizzy said firmly. "Also call Paul too."
