That night everyone came to supper in the the west hall even Lara came down from her chambers for the first time in days. Everyone enjoyed a simple soup with bread and a glass of fine wine. The dinner was still sorrowful, everyone was still in mourning however it was nice for everyone to spend time in each others company. Daniel was the first to speak "iv'e received letter from all the neighbouring kingdoms now and they seem to all agree a new ruler must be appointed by the end of the week"
"well who did they have in mind" Aggie asked
"they simply said due to the circumstances, Autumn would've been appointed as she took over however due to her passing they've decided that the ruler should be of our choosing as Autumn's closest companions" Daniel said before politely sipping his wine
"very well then, who wants the job?" Hope asked bluntly
"no thank you, i have an army to command and the seas to protect, i'll be off next week" Aggie said "besides iv'e only been here a short while"
"well iv'e already told them that i shan't be taking up the position, i'm going to remain prince but i never wanted to be king" Daniel said
"i'm going with Daniel, and back to my home" Hope said
"no, i won't" Lara said sharply "it was her role, i'm not even in a fit state to look after myself let alone a kingdom" Lara said sorrowfully. Everyone looked at Jack.
"your joking, i-i'm not a king"
"Your dreams? Of inspiring people they'd be perfect" Aggie said" i suppose i do want to inspire people, i can share Autumn work if you'll allow me to" Jack said
"you'll make a great king, i'm sure" said Daniel
"i hope you get stabbed by an assassin" Lara said banging the table in an angry rage and storming off.
Lara went down a dark stone hallway wanting to leave the castle once and for all and never to return. She saw Autumn again at the end of the hallway, she almost jumped in surprise. But Lara was wearing a long, satin dress . Not thinking she tore her dress to just above her knee and pelted down the cobbled corridor. Autumn took a left and jumped up into a arched part of the ceiling. Lara had to swing upside down on a beam to get up but she grabbed Autumn's foot before she could escape pulling her down. Autumn tried to pull away and climb out of the narrow window but Lara was strong and pulled her down, both of them fell onto the cobbles below, but luckily neither of them were seriously injured.
"your alive then?!" Lara said partly annoyed partly excited
"did you miss me" Autumn said awkwardly
Lara sat up and slapped Autumn round the face
"Okay I deserve that"
"care to tell me why you've waited two weeks to tell me your alive or did you just want me to have nightmares, push everyone i ever loved away because i feel like a burden" Lara shouted at her"i'm sorry, look i met someone before the battle, someone you know, love iv'e been tracking her and iv'e tracker her to the dead city, just north of the troll and dragon kingdom" Autumn explained
"who?" Lara asked angrily"your sister" Autumn said. Lara smiled
"i can't decide whether to punch you right now or make out with you" Lara said
"i prefer option number two" Autumn grinned
"okay" Lara said before kissing Autumn's soft lips. Lara pushed Autumn against the wall feeling pure joy. Lara felt all the sorrow, all the pain fall away like a river being cleaned of poison. Everything finally felt right like it should have all along, it finally sank in that they'd won.
