"Derick, I don't think this is a good idea."

I tried to get him to stop, but he ignored me.

"Heh, What? You scared of a little house? All we have to do is get in, see what we can find, and leave."

He never listened to me, once he got an idea in his head, there was nothing you could to do to make him stop.

"Derick, Stop!"

He turned around and looked at me with a glare. "Listen, either your coming with me, or you're leaving. So please, Shut up and make your decision!"

He continued up the hill, I had already tried to stop him before, but it was clear that he had already made his decision. He was heading for the abandon house on the hill. It had been abandon by its last owners and it's been sitting there for a few years, and Derick got the bright idea to explore the household, and see what he could find. He wanted to sell whatever stuff that he could find. I wanted to leave and head back home. Go back to my parents and forget him going to the household, but part of my gut made me want to stay with him. I only had a few seconds to make my decision before he was completely up the hill. I sighed, I was gonna go up with him.

I caught up with him, he looked at me and smiled. "Now that's what I'm talking about, it's just going to be a quick trip, I promise."

We were finally at the top of the hill, standing in front of us was the abandon house, it was dull yellow, being worn out after years of sitting in the hot sun. The lawn was overgrown, with grass being almost as tall as the both of us, and a creaky old wooden porch with a broken chair and table on it.

He walked through the lawn, the walkway being covered in cracks. It gave me a uneasy feeling. As we were both stepping on the porch, the wooden boards creaking under our feet. He tried to open the door, but it had been locked.

"Hey, Jax, Go try and open the side door, if it opens, let me in." Derick motioned for me to go to the side of the house. I got off the porch and walked through the lawn, the grass brushing up against my stomach. I saw little insects hopping away as I moved to the side door.

The side door was covered in vegetation. Little vines covered the door knob, I had to pick them off. Once they were off, I opened the door, and a horrible stench met my nose. I about fell from the stench, I wasn't expecting it to smell this bad. I closed my nose and started moving through the house.

I had stepped into the house, and I tried to turn on the light, but it wouldn't turn on. I looked around, I had stepped into the laundry room. There were old, tattered clothes everywhere. A thick layer of dust swept through the air.

I stepped into the kitchen. The horrible stench was coming from here. The table was damp and wet, with small holes littering the boards of the table. It seemed to have leaked water in the house. The sink was dripping and was filled with a brown, disgusting liquid. As I stepped near the fridge, the smell got stronger, I couldn't bear the stench, and I stepped away from the fridge.

I moved into the living room, I could see the front door, and unlocked it immediately, letting Derick into the house. "Dear god, what is that smell?" Derick said under his breath. "Well, first order of business is to check the living room and bedrooms, that's where we could find some stuff.

We both examined the living room, Derick had brought gloves and some masks. I wore the pair of gloves and the mask and started searching through the drawers. I saw something. I pulled out a little coin, it had a girl with flowing hair on it. "Yo Derick, come look at what I found." He walked swiftly towards me and I let him look at the coin. "Good work, I'm pretty sure this is worth around 30 dollars." We shared a high-five and searched the rest of the living room but didn't find anything of value.

We searched one of the bedrooms next. There were cobwebs everywhere, we spied little bugs crawling out of view. A few vines crawled into the room. He began opening drawers and searching the room. I looked through a toy box, but we didn't find much. We found a few items worth a few dollars but not much.

"I'm gonna search the closet, you search the bathroom, Jax." I moved to the hallway and opened the bathroom door, the smell of mildew and mold greeted my nose. I looked at the old, cracked mirror and stared at my reflection. Blonde hair, green eyes, and a bit of acne. I got back to work, scouring through old and worn towels to empty shampoo bottles. In the end I didn't find anything.

I was getting ready to go to the other bathroom across the household when all of a sudden I heard my friend scream my name. "Uh, Tristan! Come look at what I found!" I was quick to move to his location, and I looked into the closet where he had been looking. There was a open hatch, peering into darkness. "So, we aren't planning on heading down there. Are we?" I stepped back but my friend pushed me forward. "Come on, let's see what's inside!" He made me step closer and closer to the hatch.

He pulled out a flashlight and made me take it. "Now down the hatch we go." I peered the flashlight down the hatch and saw a old ladder. I slowly and carefully climbed down the ladder, making sure not to step to hard on it. Soon I stepped onto the floor, it was dusty and felt uncomfortable on my shoes. With Derick following behind me.

I shown the flashlight around, and saw some sort of switch. I went over and flipped it up, and the lights turned on. They buzzed and emitted a yellow light. Weird symbols were carved into the wall, with a button in the middle of the room.

"Woah, Look at all the cool stuff in this room!" Derick immediately began searching around the room. I stared at the symbols, what could they mean? Derick went over to me. "Hey, don't think about the symbols, it's not like they mean anything." "I guess.." but I had a uneasy feeling about this.

I walked over to the button, "I wonder what this does." I pressed the button, but nothing seemed to happen. "Heh, did you really think something would happen? This place is so old that nothing seems to work! Except for those lights." I breathed a sigh of relief, but not for long..

All of a sudden, the symbols began to glow a bright red. The button began to glow as well. The lights became a dark reddish color, and the hatch shut behind us. All of a sudden a portal began to open up! "Uh Jax, what is that?!" We took a few steps back. But we began getting sucked up into it. "JAX! RUN!"

We both tried to climb up the ladder but it collapsed from our weight. The portal was still open. We screamed and tried to get away, but it didn't work. We were both sucked up into the portal.

I closed my eyes, hoping for this to be some kind of dream, but I never woke up. This was real. I started to get a headache and I couldn't muster up the courage to open my eyes. It felt like I was in space. Where was I?

And then I hit the ground. I had landed on something. I opened my eyes and looked around. I stared around me, wondering where I was at. I was in a beautiful forest, with life at every corner. It was teaming with vegetation, I saw little critters on there bushes and trees. The air was pure, contradicting the thick, musky air in the abandon house. Was I dreaming?
