Loki stood up and threw what was left of his drink into Sif's face. She was momentarily blinded and he jumped over her to be next to Thor. "How could I have cut your hair? I was too busy getting ready to beat you," Loki said with a sneer. Thor spread his arms to keep them separated, but Sif still tried to get at Loki. Loki just stuck his tongue out at her, but that was when Odin's voice rang out over the crowd.

"What is the meaning of this interruption?!" Odin shouted. Thor turned to his father and raised his arms over his head. Sif bowed to Odin and Loki just shrugged his shoulders. "Explain yourselves quick!" Odin ordered.

"Loki challenged me to an arm wrestling match and I accepted. But, he did something and cut my hair!" Sif accused. Odin glanced at Loki, but Loki's face was unreadable.

He snorted after a second and then said, "She's just angry that I succeeded in defeating her. Sif does always keep telling me I'm lesser than everybody else. Just because I use magic and tricks." Odin looked at Sif and she took on a more humble appearance.

"Sif! You know how I feel about this subject. Thor and Loki are different, and they always will be. Where Thor prefers frontal assaults, Loki will choose waiting and maybe attacking from another direction. You have no proof that Loki cut your hair, because he remained in front of you the whole time. His teacher, Volva, has told me that he has not progressed that far. There is no way Loki could have done this to you," Odin said. Sif eyed Loki darkly, and he barely managed to restrain a smirk. "Now, both apologize for this misunderstanding," Odin said before he walked away.

"So it was you! How did you manage to do that? I thought Father said that Volva told him, you hadn't progressed that far yet," Thor asked as he and Loki sat together on one of Yggdrasil's limbs.

"I made her promise not to tell him how I was really doing," Loki said as he admired one solitary strand of Sif's hair, which he had saved.

"Why?" Thor queried, giving him a weird face. Loki looked up and then shrugged.

Instead of verbalizing it, he thought it, Because if I become more powerful than anyone, I want it to be my little secret.
