Will POV
It had been three weeks since Olivia was brought into the infirmary. She wasn't allowed to leave, for fear she may be a danger to herself and others. They wouldn't let me tell her the real reason she was chained up, in fear that she would have an anxiety attack or go into beast mode again, and we couldn't have that.
I walk to breakfast by myself, hurrying so I have enough time to talk to her before I need to go train. I pass my father, the general of Neptune's army, in the hallway and nod my greeting. He looked as if he wanted to say something but didn't know what to say. I ignore it and keep walking, just barely beating Mackenzie to breakfast. Thalia was no longer staying with us, and went back to her regular duties with The Hunt and Artemis. We sat in silence, each of us missing Olivia and her quirks. I ate a bowl of cereal, and finished quickly as Zach and Mackenzie talked about armor.
I went to get my morning coffee before heading upstairs to the infirmary to see her. I had grabbed her a blueberry muffin, knowing they were her favorite, and headed upstairs. When I arrived, she was sitting up the best she could from how she was chained. She had her laptop in front of her, an episode of Fairy Tail playing, as she watched intently. I approach the side of her bed, sitting down in the chair next to it, taking a sip of my now cool coffee. I knew briefly of Fairy Tail from watching a couple of episodes with her, she said that the main four characters, Gray, Natsu, Lucy, and Erza, reminded her of our friend group. Although she never specified which one of us reminded her of who.
The episode finished, and she shut her laptop, taking a deep breath and looked at me. "Good morning." She says, crossing her legs and sitting so she was facing me, well the best that she could anyways.
"Good morning to you too, how are you?" I asked, passing her the muffin.
"Good. Waiting for them to come up here and take these stupid chains off so I can actually train again, the winter solstice is coming just around the corner you know." she replies, pushing the cuff back on her wrist to reveal where it had dug into the flesh. She rubs her wrists gently, trying not to make herself cry.
"I know, but hey, they'll be off before you know it." I answered, trying to keep her positive and focused on the fact that they would let her go. I grabbed the bandages sitting next to her bedside table, and started gently wrapping her wrists, applying healing salve first.
"Whatever you say." she mumbles, looking downcast. "I wish I got to train. That's all I want to do, and I miss being able to do something besides sit around all day. It's boring being by yourself up here for hours you know."
"I know, I know. Hey! After training today, I'll ask your father about it, maybe they'll let me take them off of you." Even if he said no, it was worth a shot.
"Okay! Come up here as soon as possible though! Oh my gods, you're late for training!" She exclaims, checking the time on her laptop.
"Oh shoot! Gotta go, catch you later!" I replied, hurrying out the door. I sprinted down the curved flight of stairs, and ran through the dining hall. No one was there anymore, all out training or doing the other duties they had around the castle. I kept running, almost to the training arena. When I got to the door, I opened it quickly peering inside. Neptune was there, and so was...Olivia?
I close the door quietly, waiting for him to say something. He glanced at me and started talking, "Tomorrow, some of you will be chosen to fight alongside Olivia against Camp Olympia. I hope you didn't blow off your training, as this will be a very difficult fight. The ones who are chosen, will learn everything they need to know about Camp Olympia, Starlight Schwartz, and how to defeat the campers possessed by the Children of Night. You will be chosen based off your weaponry skills, your hand to hand combat skills, and how well you do against your opponent. So, train hard, do your best, and be ready for tomorrow! This mini tournament will start tomorrow at eight a.m. Be at your best and make sure you work your hardest." He finishes, evaporating into nothing.
