I stepped off of the sleek boat onto the dock, taking a look at my surroundings. Chris was saying some quip about me but I tuned him out more than a while ago.

I was nervous, hell that was an understatement. This was my first season and that just made me feel behind. At least Alejandro wouldn't be here, that made things kind of better.

I didn't need him constantly fucking around with everyone's feelings, Heather even went a little soft because of it. That was the least of my worries though, so I just took a deep breath and walked over to join my group.

The last of the contestants filtered onto the dock and it wasn't long until Chris gave us our team names: The hero's and the villains.

Fitting for most, I had to admit. What I did find shocking was that Gwen was on the villains team, I mean...what she did wasn't justified...but it wasn't that bad. I knew I should keep that to myself though, Gwen was now on the other team.

I was a hero. Which felt a bit unbalanced, since we had more people than the Villans. Chris gave them the lanky robot as a consolation prize,  I still thought that was a bit unfair but I held my tongue. I needed to give people here a good impression.

I turned my head to greet my team before I was cut off by the host himself.

"Alright campers! Todays challenge is...simple enough! You need to climb a top that mountain, dive into the water to collect a key, and survive the sharks long enough to get to shore! Once you're there, another teammate will drive you to the hotel in a baby carriage. Once you get to the hotel, it's time to hope that you grabbed the right key! If you didn't? It's time to start again!"

Nobody was happy with that.

Our team huddled up and started to plan out what was going on, and I got my first chance to properly meet everyone.

Zoe was a badass when she needed to be, but was caring. She honestly seemed like a really sweet girl, and I would have loved to become friends with her. But that was something for later.

Mike seemed nice enough, I had heard about his condition from the previous season, so I was already kind of used to what that meant. He was ready though, offering to run everyone to the hotel. I assumed he meant Svetlana or Vito, as I thought they might have been faster.

Cameron was smart. He would be a real asset. I mean, he got to the finale of revenge of the island somehow. He was even funny sometimes, which was always appreciated.

Courtney was...Courtney. She was a strategic, stuck up, and frankly annoying teammate, but she always wanted to win. That was something I could always use. She had determination, and that was unfortunately admirable.

Lindsay probably wouldn't be that helpful, I unfortunately knew that for a fact. She was cute and charming sure, but she just wasn't that helpful down the road. I hated admitting that to myself since she really was just a sweet girl but it was true.

Sam was a bit odd, a tad bit too chronically online for my taste and seemed more and more like dead weight as the time went by. I could tell that he wasn't actually here for the money, his head wasn't in the game like the other players.

Sierra was fine, she wasn't with Cody which actually shocked me a bit. I never thought she would have come back at all, much less without her "Cody-Kins" or whatever she called him. It was actually kind of admirable...in some fucked up way. I tried not to think about it too much.

My thoughts faded as Zoe's voice took me back to the present.

"I can dive, I just don't really want to go first.."

She explained, willing to do what she needed to to stay in the game. I understood her reservations about this whole thing, but I had to prove myself to the team somehow and I think I knew just how I was going to do it.
