quick note

This whole story is based off the Hindi movie, Gehraiyaan. So if you've watched it, you'll have a good idea of where this is about to go, if not welcome to the ride.

Gehraiyaan is a movie that I first watched because of the plot (when I say plot I mean Deepika Padukone and Siddhant Chaturvedi).
After watching it, I became kind of fixated on the movie and how it would have done better as an English film. The stuff shown in the movie wasn't stuff typical Hindi audiences would watch and I felt like that didn't do justice to the movie that I ended up enjoying.

I am in no way trying to say that this movie was really good or that it was perfect. I was honestly attracted to the newness of the movie. If any of you know anything about Bollywood, you'll know there's a lot of topics that Bollywood movies don't touch and that the typical audiences don't like to watch. Personally, I think that this movie showed one of those ideas that make many typical brown audiences uncomfortable, and that's what it was supposed to do (I think so?) but because of that a lot of people ended up hating the idea. I don't really know how to get into that without spoiling it so I'll just leave it at that.

There were things I liked other than the idea, of course. First, the soundtrack is amazing. It fits the energy of the movie so well and music I like. The way this film was shot, so like the grey colors and the settings were also pretty cool. And don't get me started on Deepika Padukone, she's probably the best part of the movie.

I really wanted to write something based off this movie because I felt like English audiences would have treated this movie completely different. The concept was more western and maybe that's why the Hindi audiences didn't love it so much. That's why I had the idea to put some parts of the movie in English writing.

Let me end this by saying, this will be messy. My writing is messy, the plot is messy, the characters are messy, and I still don't know whether I want to follow the movie or my own ending.
