Y/n's View

"One more." Max says as I bring the bar back down to my chest.

I lift the bar up and I hear the door open.

"Tucker!" Someone shouts loudly.

I drop the bars and it falls on my chest. I groan and Max quickly lifts the bar up. I sit up and see dad staring at me.

"Walk with me." Dad says as I run my chest.

I grab an ice pack and follow him out.

"What the hell is wrong with you, Y/n?" Dad asks.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"You're going dark after this. Why are you starting a relationship with a celebrity?" Dad says.

"Celebrity?" I ask.

"Don't play fucking dumb. The guys were all talking about how much game you have. When I asked them what they were talking about, they said you rizzed up Hailee Steinfeld. Whatever the hell that means." Dad says.

"Is she a celebrity?" I ask.

"Yes, you moron!" Dad says.

"End it now." He says.

"But-" I say.

"You heard me!" He says.

I groan and he walks away.

Time Skip; Hailee's View

"I don't know what I did wrong." I say as tears stream down my face.

Naomi sighs and hugs me.

I thought me and Tucker really hit it off. We were texting each other a lot and all of a sudden he stopped responding. I understand he's training but it's been 24 hours. He's literally been on Twitter tweeting.

"Men ain't shit." Naomi says.

"Ooh, Grant texted me back!" Naomi says as her phone dings.

"Naomi!" I whine.

"I don't know what you want me to tell you." Naomi says.

"It's not like you can go to his game tonight and hope he talks to you." Naomi says.

"I could totally do that!" I say.

4 hours later...

"Hey, Tucker, why do you always change in the bathroom?" Grant asks.

"Um, I'm just very insecure." I say.

"You're tall as hell, I'm sure there's nothing to be insecure about." Max says.

"Alright man, quit with the gay shit." Grant says.

"Football is quite literally the gayest sport ever. We're grown men fighting over balls." Max says

We laugh and Max smiles.

"Alright, y'all ready to win this game?" Coach Mike asks.

Everyone cheers and exits the locker room.

"Hey, kid." Dad says.

"What?" I ask.

"I'm sorry but it's for the best." Dad says.

"The one time someone finds interest in me, I'm not allowed to date them." I say.

"She's interested in Tucker, you're Y/n." Dad says.

"Don't forget to separate yourself from this persona and who you really are." Dad says.

Dad hands the helmet to me and I sigh. Dad walks out and I put the helmet on.

20 minutes later...

"What the hell are you doing, kid?" Dad asks.

"I'm trying!" I say.

"You sure are. You're trying not to catch the ball!" Dad says.

"Get your head in the fucking game." Dad says.

Dad walks out and I sigh. The door opens and Hailee comes.

"Great." I mumble.

"Tucker." Hailee says.

"What?" I ask.

"Did I do something wrong?" Hailee asks.

"I really don't wanna talk about this right now." I say.

"Well, can you tell me when you do? You just stopped responding to my texts." Hailee says.

"That's because I'm forced to!" I shout.

"It's like I'm forced to do everything because me don't think I can make decisions for myself! They don't think I know what's best for me! That don't even think that I try to do what I'm supposed to do!" I say.

I start to cry and Hailee sits beside me. She rubs my back and I rest my head on her shoulder.

"I don't think I'm cut out for this." I say.

"Don't say that." Hailee says.

"You're holding yourself up to the same standard that your dad is held up to just because he's your dad. You're expecting yourself to be on his level when he's been doing this long before you were born." Hailee says.

"You need to realize that you're not him, you're Tucker. You'll never be him but you can be just as great as him." Hailee says.

I nod and she kisses my cheek.

"Do you know what you need to do now?" She says.

"Hm?" I ask.

"You need to go back out there and win this game. And I'll be out there in the crowd cheering you on. Okay?" She says.

"Okay. Thank you." I say.

She smiles and gets up.

"Hey, Hailee." I say as she walks towards the door.

"Yeah?" Hailee asks, turning around.

I cup her cheeks and kiss her.

"Can I see you after the game?" I ask.

"Mhm." Hailee says.

I smile and she walks out. I grab the helmet and put it on. I walk back out and Coach Mike smiles.

Max walks off the field and gives me a pat on the back. I walk onto the field and everyone cheers.

"Are you ready now?" Dad asks.

"Yeah." I say.

Dad smiles and nods.
