As I pack my bags there is only one emotion spiralling through my stomach,the feeling of butterflies flapping their wings trying to break free.
Little did I know at the time that they won't break free for a while...

I said my goodbyes to my parents, the air was filled with a sweet and sour scent as they were excited for me to start a new life but they were sad to see their only daughter head away.
You bid your goodbyes by hugging your mom and dad as tight as you can, hoping that the feeling of your embrace will last long enough for them, you ensure that that you will be back to visit once your settled, and with that you leave the house and drag your suitcases to the black cab waiting for you.

{AFTER THE FLIGHT}

You have finally arrived at New York, the air is very different from the city your were in, it's a new scent that's gives you a good feeling, you rush out the airport with all your luggage on the way to your new apartment.

{OUTSIDE THE NEW APARTMENT}

You finally made it after your long and tiring journey all you want to do now is sleep, the landlord helps you with your suitcases, despite being around 65 ish he was in good shape, as he shows you the way up the elevator, in the process he is telling you about the property you have rented before coming, you nod in the act of active listening without hearing much of what he said, with that you thank him for his help and direction and take the keys from his hand as he leaves the door, for a split second you thought you saw him smirking as he handed you the key but you were too tired to pay it much thought.
With that you lay on the couch since you know your room is not equipped yet for sleep and you daze off to dreamland...

{7 hours later}

You wake up to a sight of darkness, 'how long was a I out for', you wonder to yourself as your struggling to get up from the couch you slept on whilst holding your head. It was dark so you couldn't see what was around you, and you had forgotten where the light switch was, so you start scavenging for your phone to turn on the flash light, when all of a sudden you hear a click, followed by a turn of the locks, shocked you jump from the ground when the lights switched on, you looked like a cat that just lost one life when you see the mysterious figure in front of you that could be seen with the shadows of the hallway lights from outside the apartment, turn the light switch on.

"Who are you and what are you doing in my house?" Says the man in front of you with as his eyebrows move down in furrow, forming an expression of anger, which scared you further more.

"I just moved here today, I'm the new roommate" you barely managed to spit out due to the shock.

"Oh that's weird, I was expecting a roommate but the landlord didn't say it was going to be a girl... a cute one too" he says as he eyes you down then levelling with yours as he smirks.
This caused you to blush, you had never met such a blunt man, but you quickly refused to take his compliment as a serious remark since you had just woken up and came from a long flight so you looked anything but pretty in your own eyes.

"Well I didn't think my roommate was going to be a guy either, there must be a misunderstanding then, let me call him" you suggest after a pause to collect your thoughts.
You processed to find your phone and dial the numbers, but there is no answer, it goes straight to voicemail.

"I mean it's late, the guys probably asleep, plus what's the harm in being roommates with me, I'll treat you better then any girl roommate, you will have more fun with me" the man suggests putting his hands on his hips as he steps closer to you

"Um I'll try again tomorrow, there must be some mistake" you reply immediately stepping away from the man as you meet his gaze.

He notices your discomfort into his teasing so he backs off."ok then I'm going to head to sleep, see you tomorrow miss hot roommate" he says the last part quietly but enough for you to hear as he makes his way to his room.

'This has to be a mistake, I should have listened to him when he talked what if he said something about this situation, or what if this man isn't my roommate... no he said he was expecting a roommate so... maybe the old man just got it a bit mixed up maybe my rooms next door or a different floor?' You start jotting down every scenario in your head to figure out this situation, you even try to think hard to what that that landlord said but nothing comes to mind.

With that you decide to grab your suitcase and head out to eat something and stay at a hotel for tonight until your situation is sorted tomorrow.

{OUTSIDE}
You decide on a restaurant, it's around 10pm, 'this is why I moved here New York is still alive even this late' you think to yourself as you smile of the thought of living here in this new city, you make your way in and begin on choosing what to eat...

After your meal decide to go on a hunt for a hotel to stay in the area but every hotel was booked to the brim, just your luck. 'I guess a lively city comes with jam packed hotels too' you sigh as you remembered your previous thoughts.
With that failure you start to make your way back to the apartment as it was way safer then being on the streets in the middle of the night, so you sulk your way back into that elevator this time with no help with your suitcase, as you turn the keys in you make your way into your empty room with a couch pillow and decide to sleep there on the floor. You were so tired out once again from your search that you slept well into the morning.
