Contrary to popular belief, Fate does not control every detail of your life. In fact, I only control two aspects; who you meet and how long you live. Sad right? People just love to say "it was Fate that I got this job, it's perfect for me!" However as much as I'd love to take credit, that one is due to my brother, Luck.

Funny enough, Luck is also responsible for your dog getting run over and that hair dye having too much pigment. People say the world works in mysterious ways, but it doesn't. The accurate phrase would be "Luck works in mysterious ways" because heaven forbid you try to understand his plans and reasons for doing things. Meanwhile, I pride myself on my consistency. No matter what world you're in, what job you have or what language you speak, you will always meet the same people.

What people don't seem to realise, is that meeting them again does not mean you'll have the same relationship with them that you did before. Even though you're born with the same base personality each time, different environments can drastically change your view of the world and how you react to it.

What used to be a mere coworker is now your best friend, last life's husband now happily married to your boss. Your current partner was barely an acquaintance last time. It is fate that you met again, but I'm not playing Cupid for anyone, she constantly seems stressed from drama.

Of course, there are some people that end up close no matter what life they are in. These are the people I call soulmates, a bond so strong it remains unbroken against all odds.

So honestly, considering how little control I really have over your circumstances, you can stop referring to me as some sort of mystical being. Just call me Zara, it's far better.
