My first ever story!

I lay-ed on the grass at the local park under the big oak tree looking up at the sky. The day was nice and sunny, no cloud in sight. I was with my bestfriend, relaxing and talking about how the new school year was going to be like. We were finally seniors and plan on making the school year one to remember. The birds on near by trees chirped and the wind whistled the leaves. I closed my eyes, hands underneath my head, enjoying the nice summer breeze and the sun casting it's rays on my pale complexion.
" Its nice out here, isn't it?" My best friend, Em asked. She's always so content with nature, as I was. We've known each since 10th grade and been best friends since. She has such a bubbly personality that its hard to stay mad at her. She has long wavy brown hair, sparkling greens eyes , 5'5" and has a swimmers body. She's extremely nice, but also has a bad side once you're mean to her. Almost every girl in school envies her, but she doesn't let it get to her head.
We're complete opposites, I have long blond hair that reaches to my elbows, blue eyes the color of the sky, 5'7" and also have a swimmers body. We're both the top swimmers in school, both of us as co-captains. People tend to say I'm the "most beautiful" girl in school, but I don't see it. I think I'm average and I'm fine with that. I'm usually nice and outgoing. I don't like people messing around with others and always will be there for anyone. My friends say I'm down to earth, sweet, caring, etc. But they say I'm to nice sometimes. I love fashion. I love to put pieces of clothes together and make an amazing outfit that I will absolutely adore. My closet is mostly packed by now and has everything you could think of in the fashion world in it. My favorite part about fashion is how you can make so many kinds of outfits in a few clothes.
I moved to New York when I was 16 with my mom, after the divorce between her and my dad. They were arguing a lot lately and started to drift apart. I never liked living in San Fran, the kids at school make fun of me becuase of my frizzy hair and braces. Not all of them were mean though, just the more "popular' kids did. I didn't mind at all, I was still as outgoing as I am now back then and didn't care what people though about me. They just annoyed me to no end, so I wasn't to mad about leaving San Fran for New York at the time. It still broke my heart that we were leaving dad behind, I hadn't seen him for year now and I do miss him.
Em was always there for me whenever something bad happened and I was for her. We kept barely any secrets from each and we stick together like glue. We have always had almost every AP and honors class together and sit by each other. We had plenty of adventures in our past years of high school and it was always better as each one came along. One time we went scuba diving in the Caribbeans with sharks.
"Yeah, it is nice. I'm going to miss being able to go out all we want when school starts soon."
"I know, but at least we'll be seniors! Our last year in high school and then we'll be able to travel the world and be carefree after we graduate. Its going to awesome!" Em said.
"True." I replied. Opening my eyes, I see Em stand up and stretch out her hand for me to grab hold of.
"Come on! I hear the ice cream truck coming this way! I want to get a double fudge popcicle!" She exclaimed, hoisting me up in the process.
"Alright, sounds good."
We looked around until we spotted the blue ice cream truck with its huge multi-colored ice cream cone on the roof. It was on the other side of the park, there was only two people in line. So we knew if we don't there soon, it'll drive away.
