A few days later, things had calmed down and Maisie was working on Bondi once again. The weather had taken quite a turn and it was raining so it was a very quiet day. However, that isn't going to stop something happening. After all, this was Bondi.
~~~
Just as suspected something happened. A slightly peculiar thing.
"Hey, what's going on over there?" Kerrbox said directing everyones attention. Everyone looked over to South Bondi where it just seemed to be someone sunbathing... in the rain? And also face first in the sand.
"Look's like someone passed out, I think" Harrison spoke up, picking up the binos.
Immediately a few people shuffled around and they had decided on Maisie, Harrison and Reidy heading down. They rushed down to the girl in the rhino and jumped out. It was still quite a heavy rain shower so they were rather eager to get the young women assessed so they could be back into the dry.
It was a middle aged women who just seemed to have passed out, everyone still wanted to know what she was doing. "Hey, are you okay?" Maisie asked kneeling down on the sand. She rolled the women over who was understandably quite cold. 'Can we have some foil brung down to heat her up, please' She radioed. 'Yeah, copy that' was received back who she thought she could make out as Jessie.
She felt her pulse and it wasn't as strong as she would have liked but of course, that could have been brung down due to the cold. Her eyes began to flutter which obviously was a relief washed over everyone. Harrison knelt down beside her as well asking, "Do you know what's happened?" The only response he earned was a slight mumble saying, 'Tilly'.
Harrison and Reidy quickly stood up scanning the water incase she meant someone named Tilly was in the water. They couldn't find anyone so panic set in wondering if they had missed something. A few lifeguards had let their guard down because of the rain with limited numbers of the beach, so they assumed someone had drowned and they were still completely oblivious to it.
Suddenly, she began gagging and expelled water from inside her. With her still being so weak, the lifeguards had to help her onto her side before rolling her back. "Okay, we'll need an ambulance for you since we can see you've swallowed water. Do you want to try and sit up?" Maisie asked.
She nodded and with the help of Reidy, they managed to get her sat in the buggy, somewhat in the dry now and they questioned her on who 'Tilly' was. "Love, who's Tilly?" Reidy asked making sure to keep one eye on the water.
"My tortoise, I took her for a walk and she wandered off. We were right by the waters edge." All the lifeguards exchanged a confused look.
"Okay, we need to focus on you right now, Harrison can keep looking, we'll try our best to find her." She spoke through muffled giggles at the end bit. He gave her an unamused look and she just smirked putting her attention onto the women again. Skyler had come over from Tamarama to help find the foil since the new medical team had a re-sort of everything to help make things easier for them. "I hear someone's a bit cold?" She smiled handing over the foil blanket to Maisie.
Returning the smile and a grateful look, she wrapped the blanket over the women to help warm her body temperature. "This will only do so much, we should take you up to the lifeguard tower." She nodded and made sure Harrison would keep looking for her tortoise.
Reidy took the woman, whose name was Natalie, up to the tower in the Rhino whilst Maisie and Skyler walked back.
"So, how have you found this?" Skyler asked trying to get to know her new colleague.
"I love it, the thrill of it is crazy. How about you?" Maisie replied.
"Yeah, it's alright."
"Not your type of thing?" She wondered hearing the more down tone she spoke with now.
